Yeah, pretty stupid.

But, let's not pretend like they are flashing Rolex's and driving around in Bugatti's. They have maybe $7-$800 there.

Big balla' there!

That's $680 - $780 more cash than what I had on me at one time when I was in high school hahaha

This happens a couple times a year with schools in the south, it doesnt matter though. No investigation will come from it. I am not saying he is guilty of anything, but as a cop, this constitutes "reasonable suspicion" which would allow me to investigate further. The NCAA needs to start investigating these kids who post pics like this. There are only a few places that these kids could get this money from (be sure to add to this list if you want):

1) They emptied their bank account

2) They are selling drugs

3) They are selling stolen products

4) They have a rich uncle who just gave them some birthday money

5) The school is paying them

Out of those 5, 3 are illegal and they are probably the most realistic option.

6) Boosters are paying them. This is, bar far, the most likely. Former SEC players talk about receiving envelopes full of cash and gifts all the time.

The schools never pay these guys--they really have no way to.

This. ^^^

The culture in the South for CFB has not changed despite all the chatter it had to after SMU and their death penalty.

And as much as I'd love to pin it on the school itself--especially USC, scUM, etc.--you really can't do that. The boosters will find these kids every time they leave campus. SEC football is everything down there.

However, when the players receive tangible items, such as cars, expensive clothing, tattoos, etc.....then the school should be held liable for not investigating where is came from and doling out punishment for it.

Ole Miss and Kentucky are not good enough to be suspected of this yet by those who don't follow... Expect to hear this about them in the next year or two.

Schools don't get unreal recruiting classes out of no where i.e. Fab 5 without green palmed handshakes some way or the other.

so here's a question...we basically know that EVERYONE does this in one way or another, at least every one of the elite schools

I'm fairly new to recruiting (only started following in 2005), but do you think Notre Dame's boosters are paying our boys like this? I'm actually not questioning the character of our kids; that's actually why I'm asking because I can't imagine any of our boys taking money like that, but we're getting a lot of damn good athletes and you just can't help but wonder
