WeaverIrish 28
Are there any defensive linemen we are after? I haven't seen you guys talk about many that's why I bring it up.
Big23Head 2,499
Solomon Thomas and Thomas Holley are probably #1s. Chad Thomas recently offered. If you count the DE/OLB (CAT) position then Andrew Williams and Lorenzo Carter. Possibly Matt Elam. That would be just about it right now I think and it will take quite a while to find out about them (as of now).

Big23Head 2,499
We are in good shape with all of those guys, meaning in their top group. Do we lead for any, I would say no.

REMND 0
Who are we likely to get? So, right now we have: Trumbetti Hayes Blankenship Bonner We are still in it for: Solomon Thomas Holley Elam Chad Thomas Carter Williams We could use a NG, DE and an LB type from that group. Then I think the front 3 which 50% of the time is a 4 would be well taken care of in this class.
NDhoosier 1,336
Thomas Holley - NG/DT Solomon Thomas - DE Andrew Williams - OLB ^That is who I am going with. That is a possibility, but it is unlikely we get all 3 studs.

Katzenboyer 0
ND doesn't strictly "recruit" NGs. I think they grab athletes on the defensive line and shuffle them as need be. That's not to say that some guys we're going after wouldn't be slated to play NG -- Khari Clark and Josh Frazier would certainly have fit perfectly there. Unfortunately, we're out of it with those guys.
davislove 0
So, right now we have: Trumbetti Hayes Blankenship Bonner We are still in it for: Solomon Thomas Holley Elam Chad Thomas Carter Williams Glad to see we are still in the running for some of them guys. Our current commits look more like long term prospects who may be more suited for reserve duty a'la springman. anyway, the cupboard won't be bare if nix and tuitt leave but these guys probably won't scare away a top prospect who wants to commit later either. Win, win I guess. Personally, I hoping we land elam. he's not the highest rated player out there but for goodness sakes he's 6-6 340 pounds and runs a 4.42 according to scout :thumb:

Or "Scout is gullible"? Or "performance enh..." (Okay never mind that one).
KamaraPolice 0
Clearly a typo. I'd bet it's a 5.42 which isn't horrible. If he's within a half second of that time it'd be freakishly impressive. He doesn't have the body type to run like that (4.92 not 4.42 which I won't even entertain as remotely possible).

Unfortunately, we're out of it with those guys. It seems like you are right. Most of us thought that we really needed a NG in the 2013 class yet the staff did not seem very bothered by the lack. Getting the surprise commit from EV happened after we thought that they just were not going to bother with the position last year. I do not get it because it is such an unusual position and requires so much size. It seems you would have to get one every year to properly fill the position. We need Nix type of NGs to be dominant with a 3-4, not Schwenke and Springmann types at NG.
