nico7980
Don't know if these guys followed him or what. But it looked like EG wasn't prepared for an interview. He gave it anyway and seems like he's set on returning. He said the he planned on returning in the spring. Little confused. Can't return this spring. Hopefully he's not talking about next spring. SpeedsterX
I'm assuming he's coming back in January and what he meant by spring is practicing with the team. That's how I took it.
irishrb
Ironic....This was our lunch conversation. I'm the only one in my family who said he will come back....Obviously I'm the most knowledgeable....

IrishCrazy
I didn't really hear him take any accountability or say he was sorry he let the guys down etc....just said "got pick yourself back up and get around a great group of guys like the ones here" i.e. on the basketball court, what about the great group of guys on his ND football team? I dunno, he doesnt seem contrite either way, hope hes learned his lesson.

I dunno, he doesnt seem contrite either way, hope hes learned his lesson. I wouldn't read too much into what he said, honestly I am assuming that he wasn't prepared to say anything -- just got hit up by the local news. He is outside the ND media machine on his own, thought he did well. I am sure the kid is just trying to demonstrate that he is upbeat with the locals. I can just about guarantee that someone on the staff is channeling info to him to *not* do interviews in the future. It made 4th bullet on espn.com, at least for the next couple hours. Anyway, it is not about what you say, it's what you do.

NDhoosier
quick hypothetical...say we are in the BCS championship and tommy got hurt the last game of the season and cant play. could golson then come in and play nope, the bowl games are considered a part of the 2013 season, just because we sign our checks with a different year, doesnt mean the rules are negated on the NCAA. To give an example of the flip side of that coin. Some players may graduate a semester early and may not attend classes in their final spring semester. They would still be eligible to play because he attended classes in the fall like normal. The bowl games are attached to the year the regular season took place. Golden Glory
Matt Fortuna mentioned in the ESPN video that he will lose a year of eligibility. Will this be the case?

I thought he violated university rules. I had no idea the NCAA was involved in this one in any way. Huh.
