BI5224 0
I saw the weirdest thing on the II site. Rivals actually has Kentucky as #1 in the current team rankings. I know it's waaaaaay to early for it to mean anything significant, still just odd to look at.
OKCIrish99 3
Someone was telling me about this at work the other day. Would love to hear their current pitch. Whatever it is seems to be working.
nd1989 216
Probably the same thing that Michigan's Mattison uses. I've been to "the league" -- I know what it takes to get you there. Same thing Weis uses on offense. Probably the same thing Heistand uses for us, and Elliot. It works (at least for a few years....)

Again, something has to be brewing down there. Straight, cold cash sure isn't out of the realm of possibilities, at all.

yikityyakirish 0
My anatomy teacher in high school told me a story while he was at University of Memphis while calipari was coach.....Robert Dozier the starting PF was walking around campus in one of the buildings my teacher was walking behind him.....a fat roll of 100s fell out of his pocket.....teacher said it must've been at least 5 grand.....my teacher went picked it up gave it back to him.....dozier said thanks and walked away.....hate calipari more than any other coach......doesn't belong in college athletics Another story from my buddy who was a pitcher for UK.....Says that all the basketball players live together in a condo and their are 4 UK blue camaros that are parked at the condo at all times....keys are kept on the kitchen table and when they need to use a car they can feel free to take the new camaros.....now I have no idea how this is true but I mean he is an athlete at the school....doubt he would make that up about his university.....he also said all the freshman who are auto nba draft picks walk in class with 5 minutes left sign their name on the role and leave
Big23Head 2,499
Stoops has been smart. He brings a great defensive mind with his DC coach there too from FSU. Got Neal Brown and the fun/exciting air raid offense from Texas Tech. Has the SEC, early playing time and the recruits can help turn around a program. Bet that sounds awesome to 17-18 yo kids. In all seriousness, I know the Stoops and we all went to the same high school in Ohio. I know what he's doing at Kentucky — he already got commitments from two kids from our H.S. as well as three or four other local Ohio kids. Kentucky is in a weird place for the SEC, situated right under a state like Ohio. He can offer a lot of these Midwestern kids a chance to play SEC football, but not have to leave home and go to Florida or Georgia to do it. It's a unique pitch that no other SEC school but Missouri really has. Lexington, Kentucky is only 360 miles from Youngstown, Ohio (his hometown). Gainesville, FL is 1,068 miles. It's the same SEC play at both schools — especially if Stoops can turn the on-field product around.

Yes and no. They are number one right now because they have a lot of recruits. They have 5 4*'s and 13 3*'s. They are barely top 20 if you go by average per recruit. So Stoops is off to a good start in building a full class, but it isn't like he is suddenly pulling in a bunch of 5*'s like Ole Miss figured out how to do last year. Yea and wait till they get beat up by half the SEC, those 4 stars might start looking around. Ole Miss is a football school with a beautiful campus and some of the most beautiful women in the country. Unless you're playing basketball, Kentucky is Kentucky.
