ND_Clover
This is setting up perfect for Tommy ...he's proven that he can get the job done and has had some defining moments already.... I truly believe that he's gonna have a hell of a year and go down as another one of the great stories and legends at Notre Dame...To me there has just always been something to Tommy that makes him special. I think this year we will see that SPECIAL Tommy throughout the whole season , and not only flashes. There is no denying that there is a night and day difference between Tommy & Golson , but the beauty of it all is we have a very versatile Coach that can make this happen...Go Tommy .......Next Man In! hawaiiirish
A legend perhaps--the problem is so many legends, the fountain of youth, el dorado, atlantis, the holy grail, were not REAL, but a product of our collective imaginations------so legend maybe , the question is what kind of a legend__---Will he be the heroic DAVEY CROCKETT---Or the frightening HEADLESS HORSEMAN----this one could go either way--- aloha's go irish! ndomer4
This is actually the perfect setup for Tommy. Wouldn't that be something if he could lead us to a national title this year, it would be quite the story. I think all of us would love if Tommy could prove us all wrong and run the table. Let's face it this is not that crazy of a thought with what we have returning and his experience. He might not be the most talented but he might be the smartest and that's huge as a qb. He's had to improve somewhat in 4 years and with the opportunity he has infront of him I bet he's training harder than ever this offseason. Let's just all hope Rees can prove us wrong and step his game to the next level.
calvegas04
I think we should worry less about Tommy and more about our running game. We know what we are getting with Tommy but running who knows

AlabamaDuck
My memory might be a little fuzzy but his 8-5 seasons would have been 10-3 or 11-2 if Tommy hadn`t thrown a pick six in the red zone or other stupid mistakes that directly caused our loss. Do you remember the offensive players going off the field shaking their head after one of Tommy`s mistakes. What about his audibles into a blitz or throwing into double coverage time after time. What about Kelly turning red and by the end of the season he was turning purple because of the same mistakes over and over. Kelly drew up a very thin playbook of short passes and running plays, plays that covered for his slow feet and weak arm but there was nothing he could do for his poor decision making until Golson came along. Last year he was put in the last couple of minutes to close the game. Not to win it but not to lose it. In the Purdue game, only running plays were called and he was not allowed to audible into a pass play. I think we can win 8-9 games this year but after the Pitt game, teams like Michigan will smother him. This year with Golson, we would not have seen Tommy in any capacity but because of Golson, he will be starting, Maybe.

rocketsurgery
He doesn't have to be a legend. He just needs to be good. Take care of the ball. Hit on a long-ish pass occasionally. Make the correct reads. Get the ball where it is supposed to be.
REMND
The only way he will be a legend is if we come close to matching last season's success. The only way we do that is if his fellow players really rally around him. Then he could be a legend as a role model for the athletes who lack great skills. Like this fumble with 6 minutes to go, up by 3, on the Michigan 7? http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view2/3093758/rees-fumble-o.gif Are you talking about the back breaking pick against FSU that lost us the Champs Sports bowl? The one where we were on the FSU 28, first down, with 3 minutes to go? http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view6/4726617/rees-fsu-interception-o.gif Let me just leave this year

MyFightingIrish
Training hard enough to outrun a cop? remember, it wasn't the cop that caught him... it was the taxi cab driver... you can't make this sh*t up.
