SpeedsterX
From Don Juan that found this. It "could" happen. http://www.athleticscholarships.net/2013/05/25/how-gunner-kiel-could-play-for-nd-this-year.htm
OKCIrish99
Interesting. Now, that would be something. Doubtful it happens, but it will be interesting to see how Kelly goes about this. Also, mark my words. Tommy Rees does NOT like not starting at qb for ND. He wants to start next year. Kid has guts, and I've always liked that about Rees. Green Goblin
I honestly hope he doesn't come back. Its not right.
OKCIrish99
Man, this is all screwing with my sanity. You and me both Tim. Kiel would totally destroy his minimal credibility if he can back to ND. I would be happily floored if it happened. Worth pursuing for sure. The opportunity of a lifetime may await him.
SpecialFNK
if Golson is gone, I'd rather have Kiel than anyone else to be the football QB at ND. but how would the other players feel towards Kiel after he basically quit and went somewhere else? I'm sure he could explain it was because he wasn't going to start, but now he has the opportunity to start, and he didn't transfer because he didn't like ND. Marl Cologne
I would hope this is not even being entertained. I don't see how the guy could ever be a leader for us. I'm fine with the guys who have stayed. There are 60 winners coming back to this team who once the shock of losing their quarterback wears off, will do what winners do; Understand that they now have to work even harder. EVERYONE knew that and was absolutely NOT a surprise. Coming back would be the smartest thing he does IMO.
OklahomaIrish
Kiel would be the man. No doubt whatsoever. Can someone get him on the phone for me?
S.B.IRISH
The players are posting on Twitter, once a brother always a brother for life in regards to Everett. I would assume it would be the same for Gunner, I'm sure they know he would be the best quarterback option.

I am not sure how Gunner left it but Tommy has a ton of support from past and present players.

Coming back would be the smartest thing he does IMO.He decommitted from Indiana. He decommitted from LSU. He decommitted from Notre Dame. Conceivably, he'd decommit from Cincinnati to go back to a school he already decommitted from. All without NEVER taking a meaningful D1 snap. Does it get any worse than that from the loyalty/respectability aspect? Even for an 18 year old.
rocket31
Kiel would be the man. No doubt whatsoever. Can someone get him on the phone for me? Kiel would be 3rd team. (Rees/Hendrix) Probably even 4th team after summer camp. (Zaire) Dude is not coming here and will likely never even play for cincy

SpecialFNK
I could get a lot of support from a bra, but that doesn't mean I would want to wear one. if Kiel could come back, and would want to come back, does that mean ND has to give him a scholarship again and take him back? JTennant
I honestly hope he doesn't come back. Its not right. I agree 100%. The fact that we are debating the possibility of this is not right.
hawaiiirish
Kiel returning---:-)---that will never happen--- We will go with Rees--and of course we will go 8-5-- I fully expect BOTH the recruiting class to deteriorate and following the season we can expect the staff that has held together so well over four years to also IMPLODE--- When you light a fuse sending your program into the abyss---its not likely to turnaround anytime soon--- aloha's
