Signed with the Ravens this morning. I hope the NFL proves to be his second chance. Always wished his switch would have flipped while at ND but congrats to him and I hope it works out in the pros!

I am going to guess that he got a big endorsement from Weis. I bet such an endorsement from him still resonates with the pros.

He certainly has big skills. Hopefully, he does well.

Dayne has a huge arm and is much faster than many people give him credit for. Unfortunately for Dayne being a quarterback is much more than just a big arm, the mental part he really seems to struggle at. His accuracy is sub par also. In the best case scenario he can pull off something like Matt Cassels has done.

He had four years to display them. Still waiting...

I think you were waiting to see the mental side of the game...

I don't think there's any debate on his "big skills" which I interpreted as physical skill like the cannon that his has on his right shoulder.

He's 6'4, 230, HUGE arm, and somewhat mobile

If he works out the mental side, he'll be a solid QB

Bingo. Developing the mental skills is a huge issue though.

Wouldn't you say that being a successful QB is about 50% physical and 50% mental? Saying he needs to work on his mental side would be like asking a decent short stop to learn how to hit the ball to make it in the MLB...

I'm glad he got picked up, but I can't see anything happening for him...he was fine in high school so no idea where his mind went at the college level...

after quinn and clausen? LOL ;D

That is odd that those guys did so well in college but not the pros. In fact, if you go back even further, just what QB from ND has succeeded in the pros in the last 20 years?

Mirer, Powlus, Jarious Jackson, Kevin McDougal, Clausen, Quinn and whomever I am missing. We are not QB university like we are TE university.

Honestly, that can be said for most universities. Having a successful career as an NFL QB is tough business.
