You heard it here first. Munir Prince will be "sharing" reps with DW by the end of the year. I said it two months ago and I echo that statement today. Munir will be the "every down" starter possibly by next year!

Here is a quote from Irish Illustrated about the first day of practice. It is the first day but not the only impressive day you will see out of Munir.

"Chris Stewart was doing well in blocking drills, holding his own against Frome. Abiamiri looks to be in top form. Sam Young was playing with the first team and is an absolute monster. Bartley Webb also looked good. Munir Prince is lightning quick and is sure to get plenty of reps this year, especially with Thomas possibly switching and Aldridge out. Geoff Price was absolutely booming his kicks, with consistency. The quarterbacks were rotating quite a bit - it seems that for now Sharpley looked the best (other than Brady), but that could change as the freshmen adjust by the end of the camp."

Particularly happy to see that about Price. He has a big time leg but has had big problems with consistency and accuracy in the past.

I agree, Broke. Munir "Price" and Geoff "Prince" are the two best kickers on the team.

I think Prince will get on the field a lot but I don't see him being the every day back in a year. First off, my guess is Walker stays for his senior year, and second I think Aldridge will take his place. It looks like Aldridge is going to be ready at or around the 3rd game of the year.

yeah, hearing the kicking game is looking good is huge, in a NC run there is always a game or two that come down to field goals, and kicking was thought to be a problem earlier on, so nice to hear progress has been made

All of you who think Aldridge is a better back are reading a little too much into the 5-star rating system. Munir is smarter and a much better athlete. He will more than compensate for his borderline lace of size with his amazing athleticism. Aldriges' knee will likley be a chronic impediment to his success anyway.

prince will be used more in a reggie bush type role.

I agree an "every down" Reggie Bush like role. Not exactly, like Bush but more like, in fact exactly like, an every down back.

Trust me. Coach says that it is not a season ending issue. Maybe not enough for him to not suit up but he will be lucky to play a down this year. Who knows what happens next year.

Aldridge will be fine...the way you're talking its like his career is over. He had a spring injury that will keep him out until October, its not the end of the world!

Okay, you're right!

aldrige was practicing today. he will be fine.

aldrige was practicing today. he will be fine.

You saw that video today too, huh?

Care to substantiate Vagas? I saw him too 34, looked pretty decent if he's out for the season...

Okay, you're right!

Either way....having potential major competition between Munir and James in the years ahead is not a bad thing!

you guys i just watched charlies pres confrence. go to und.com and check it out. when asked what freshmen stood out, Munir prince "i have never seen speed like that!" what about in the pros? "i have never seen speed like that!" he said just ask the defense they'll tell you. he said he cant descibe his speed. he said i can desribe swisshhhhhh!

Just remember, injuries are not the only reason that guys don't play to begin the season.

Broke, I have to agree with you on that note. I think injuries are only part of the story with Aldridge.
