I made fun of Rocket a couple months ago, but he may be right. I think his transfer meter is spot on with this kid..

A highly touted kid who switched his commitment a few times and now could be stuck riding the pine..

If he doesn't compete for some split reps by the end of spring, I'll jump on Rockets bandwagon and say this kid is gone.

Anything can happen, huh? Shocking, groundbreaking insight there. LOL :faint:

I think this quote was taken mildly out of context. Just prior to that he mentioned that injuries happen and he always has to be ready because he never knows when his time may come.

Yah. Your coach could interview for an NFL job and decide to return.

I don't know why he could just humor us and say I don't plan on transferring.. not adding "anything could happen".. seems like kindofa lashing out in frustration to me..

I'm no psychologist

It's asking for someone to make fun of it.

Do it. LOL

I never got ole' Gunner....here is a kid that is the #1 Qb comming out of HS and he first chose IU, then LSU only to show up at ND...a place that he may never see a game day snap as a starter and if he does it will be in a system not built for his talents???

I will be more shocked if he does not transfer. In fact he should. Open the spot for a kid who can play in this system and really WANTS to be here.

I know it's harsh but come on...what a waste of talent if this kid rides the pine at ND when he could be starting for a number of programs.

For the record. His female cousin taught my daughter two years ago and she was Hot! She is Blair's daughter! :kev:

No joke gunner reminds me of todd marinovich....which wouldn't be too bad....until he got to the NFL

For the record. His female cousin taught my daughter two years ago and she was Hot! She is Blair's daughter! :kev:

And if anyone knows hot, it's Chiro. Then there is Sligo who IS hot. But Chrio KNOWS hot...

I got a chance to meet Blair a few years back...great guy. Still sucks he is gone.

This thread spiraled out of control fast!

That said, I think before next year is over we'll have a chance to see Gunner play. I don't think he's the starter, but some circumstance will force him into a game.

Yea, it didn't have much substance. I saw the video now and realized how he took that out of context.. The article made it seem like he added "anything is possible" to the question of transferring when in fact it was added to the idea that Everett could get hurt or go pro and anything can happen in terms of him seeing the field.

I agree though.. I think Everett will get hobbled or slowed in some form or fashion to where we'll need to rely on our backup for more than just a few plays.

He's a concussion or two away from losing his job.. Look @ Alex Smith.

Totally agree. Spring is gonna be a ton of fun!

I don't see how Golson going into camp as the unquestioned starter. The people who will say he is a lock because of experience would also dismiss Rees's experience because of his decided lack of tools. Kelly made the switch because no matter how much experience Rees got, he can't get to that next level.

I would argue that Golson, who still had problems with decisiveness and reading defenses by the end of the year, could face this wall that all the experience in the world won't crack. This was especially evident in the redzone where he had a shorter field to work with.

Do I know if Kiel is the guy? Hell no. But it would be foolish imo not give him a chance with the ones in spring.

Gunner is more talented than Golson, just like Golson was more talented than Rees. Wouldn't surprise me at all if Gunner got a chance next year.

Yahp. Coach gave me the impression he still had to coach effort and attention during practice 2/3's of the way through the season. It was week 9 or 10 when coach said, "he finally gets it.. the way you need to come to work every day"

They should use those words of wisdom and make a song out of it.
