1. Keep the Coach/Get Extension Done.

2. When do we here about roster attrition? tranfers Etc?, Hendrix interests me, still think hes a good h-back or wildcat guy

Status:

1.(Kelly) At least half Done, Might know more soon.

2. ??????????? on roster attrition

February:

Sign Top 5 recruiting Class

Status:

Had a setback, but still looks very good otherwise, Feb 6th is Signing Day

This is where you improve speed, cause thats a God given talent

(please refer discussion of this part to Recruiting Board )

Spring:

Need to improve depth and weight on the Offensive Line along with replacing Cave and Golic

Alabama proved to me that Offensive Tackles need to be 320 at least, Our version of 300 is not enough for Guards and Centers either. Hit the Iron Men

Also need too add weight and Strength to guys like Golson and Chris Brown.

Golson so he can run some more option. Brown so he can play some more snaps.

Of Course adding more details to veterans knowledge of offense and defense

Mike Linebacker- I like Jarrett Grace

Offense

1. we'll see our Offensive -line will determine success in the BCS

2. Golson looked stronger physically after Bowl Practice, Not sure on Brown

Defense

Mike linebacker - Grace will start with a leg up, but a guy like Deeb could Challenge in fall, or even Carlo or Kendall Moore may move over

Corner

Does someone challenge Russell? like Shumate, Lo Wood, Butler ETC?

So I guess my Offseason list is:

1. Offensive Line

2. Mike Backer and Corner

3. Attrition picks?

4. replace skinny with ripped at all positions (laughing out loud, how vague is that?)

5. move everybody up a level mentally, meaning progress for everybody at their position

Thoughts?

Mine are man that was a lightly organized rant

Welcome to DD Golden. Davaris broke his Clavicle jumping for a ball. now he will have to do it next year, but making him do it right after he got back was not gonna happen.

Elmer is our prized first commit, committed very early, so I'm sure more schools woulda offered had he not verbaled last year.

and we like Robinson.. With time okie's usually right, like he was on Russell, don't tell him I said that, thats right he will see it, just joking Okie a bit!!

He was high on Daniel Smith who made key perimeter blocks this year..

Okie good people with good info, and so are you so welcome and god bless

Appreciate the welcome!

I wasn't speaking on Daniels to go for a jump ball in the title game, I was referring to next season. I think Robinson is an excellent recruit that has flown under the radar. That being said, he will only be a freshman and I'm not sure how he will translate against division one competition, especially with his lack of bulk.

I don't think Elmer even had an offer from Alabama.

Lets politely steer this away from recruiting before the staff gets mad at me:)

Was reading a story in Irish Illustrated on Elmer. Alabama never quit on him. They sent 3 letters a day after he was committed to Notre Dame. These were big envelopes stuffed with materials and recruiting jargon. Elmer said he turned them down because he was Catholic.

You did see my admission about Corner right Tim?:)

Well With the expected News of Cierre Wood to the NFL.. I have to add one more to my list...

6. Find which running back will pass protect the best

We Can't overlook this because GAIII has not be asked to do this much in game conditions. Theo Did it Primarily, sometimes Cierre. Looked like Bryant was a good blocker on film, but that was high school, so its worth watching

We have to turn our PR and KR units into a legitimate weapon, their is no reason with the talent we have that we have to continue our poor play in this area.

Amen to that. BK might want to try another hand in charge of ST. They are so critical and we got zilch from them all year.

In no particular order:

1. Get bigger, stronger, faster. Alabama exposed the Irish in this facet. Yes I understand that UA is a football factory. That doesn't matter. Players have seen the opposition, now set your sights on it.

2. Develop the offense. Particularly the backfield. That is crucial. The inability to run on UA was horrific. I feel fairly solid on the passing game, I just have visions of Weis' "pass to setup the run" offense freaking me out. We need some blowouts. Winning squeakers is well and good, but what the heck.... how are your backups going to get game experience without the blowouts?

3. Figure out what's wrong with Ishaq Williams. That kid is huge.... how the eff is he not playing better?

4. Develop Gunner Kiel. I hate to see this kid go. I'm not sure he'd be ready to start next year, but I think his 3rd year could be a legit goal. He needs to be ready regardless, because EG is pretty frail. One big hit and I'd way rather see Gunner than Tommy.

5. Work on some admissions/recruiting stuff. Why is it JC guys aren't allowed? If their grades are up to snuff, why wouldn't you look for them to help out? One thing that helps the SEC (puke!) reload is JC players. They've matured physically and typically understand the classroom balance. I respect the academic rigors of UND, but for dang sure a JC kid isn't automatically a knuckle-dragger. There is a happy medium. Just need to find it.

I agree with all of this and I would add a 6. Develop the passing game.

However I do not see #5 as an option for the University. It just isn't practical given the nature of the JC transfer.
