I am truly interested. If he is correct all the time, surely I'll be able to get more than one example.

 

I didn't believe da coach's info on Blake leuders or the fact that he stated that the CB Amerson was a silent to ND (he's an all American at NC state). He also hedged on the Kiel situation last year. My personal opinion is that if da coach posts something on here, usually the opposite happens. TFWIW...

What I really love is how we take the main stream media's "sources" to be legit, even if they don't have to name them and they are CONSTANTLY wrong.

Let's be honest, the main stream media only cares about being first to report something not whether or not it is accurate. What makes them any better than a message board poster? TBH, that's probably where a lot of media's "sources" are.

I want to believe coach, but I don't know who he is or who he knows.

When a reporter uses sourcing, he has a good amount of validity beyond a message board, and a real name. There is no harm in being wrong and losing professional credibility here. Mainly, because nothing on this board is professional. It's a fun forum to talk ND football.

 

I am a professional journalist and coach is using a standard practice. If you don't believe him, you're more than welcome to — but he's not doing anything that someone with the Associated Press or ESPN wouldn't do. He's a respected poster here and he's earned the right by a lot of us to be trusted.

I was interested about the thread's development up to the point you hijacked it, hence my involvement in wanting YOU to understand that I (and obviously others) believe YOU were out of line so that YOU cpuld continue your inquisition on your own and privately so that I (We) could go back to discussing about the possible details/implications/etc, of the OP's thread, NOT YOUR demands about the OP's credibility

How do you know he isn't a professional journalist and can't reveal his sources?

 

I know plenty of things that I can't reveal the origins of. If I knew something relevant to Notre Dame, I wouldn't come to this forum and share that info, while also outing my sources. That's insanity and it would burn bridges with people who trusted me with information.

 

It's just his job to jump through your hoops.
