Much better. Compare the two films and you'll forget why ND even recruited Anzalone. Don't set fire to the rain over this decommitment. ND's got the best LB commit in recent history to help you forget. And there's no projection needed, he's already the real deal.

Jaylon Smith + Alex Anzalone > Jaylon Smith :thumb:

Anzalone would have been the new Aaron Lynch. A cancer to the team, a team he didn't even want to be on. So yeah, addition by subtraction.

And yes, Smith plays a different LB position. But the point was ND is getting the best in Jaylon and his ceiling is much higher.

But by all means, go ahead and panic over Anzalone if that's what you want to do. Don't let me stop you.

6* Te'o returns , apart from that happening, i thik the die is cast at LB

Gotta work on DL instead

You cant really say that for sure...it seemed to me like all of the other ND recruits really liked Alex and are upset that he is leaving. That doesnt scream team cancer; just because a person is indecisive, that doesnt make him an asshole which is what Lynch was. Lynch was a complainer and did not get along with many guys.

Not sure how Anzalone is just like lynch...other than they were both indecisive...so one common trait makes them the exact same person?

Haha thats clown logic bro!

I can't wait until Jaylon takes on an offense 11 on 1.

AA bailing is a huge loss. I'm not saying the sky is falling, but stop trying to pretend it isn't. These losses at the end of every class lately are part of why Notre Dame may not take that next step.

I think the key words were "would have" been the new Aaron Lynch. And that's simply saying that Alex didn't want to be here and if he was forced to be here, probably wouldn't have been happy. And go and check what commits are saying now. Also, yes losing AA hurts. But it's not the end of the world. --clown logic

I wanted Anzalone badly and he was coming in early, now I will focus on Jarret Grace, Deeb and next year's recruiting. We will be fine. Remember how Deeb progressed dramatically this year and is now close to what Anzalone is. Bottom line, this is a great class and whatever is a shortcoming we will nail it next year.

Wow! Do you have the powerball numbers for this weekend too? I mean, you can read minds AND tell the future! Help us out!

THIS. ^^^^

Once again, Colin tells it like it is...

Everyone keeps talking trash about Aaron Lynch...but we need guys like that to beat teams like Alabama. Same thing with Anzalone.

Amen. Excellent post.

We can still field a BCS Bowl winner with the caliber of talent that we've had. We can hang with Stanford and Oklahoma with what we've had. But losing consensus top 100 kids with a month to go is going in the wrong direction when it comes to increasing the bar of talent that wasn't good enough last Monday.

Life will go on, and we'll still be good, but it makes it that much harder to show up on a neutral site and go toe-to-toe with juggernauts that have advantages such as grey shirting, JUCOs, oversigning, and academic flexibilities we aren't afforded.

No panic, no burning down the Golden Dome, no selling off the Hammes Bookstore. Just reality - it sucks, and it hurts the direction this thing is going.

Eh, I was never really enamored with this kid, personally. Just seems like a drama queen. Hope he does well at Florida, but I want someone that wants to definitively play for Notre Dame. We have that in Jaylon and Deeb for sure.

Not to mention we can pick up another solid player. Not understanding the panic here.

After watching the game the other night. I could not agree any more!:dizzy:

anzalone is not even close to what Aaron Lynch possessed......

100% Totally agree.....

The only comparison made between AA & AL was that they both wanted NOT to be at Notre Dame... Enough said though. They are both obviously talented.
