As long as Vanderdoes is in front of them picking up OL, I'm all for this.

Solution is for us to play Florida in the Natty next year and stomp their asses.

Isaac Savaiinaea? would be nice but i doubt it, wonder if A&M still has room for him.

i have a feeling no one is coming to us with a unsettled coaching position. I mean would you recommend that to your son. I think Alex could have stayed yes but I do not see the ones not recruited coming our way. If we take as long to find a coach as we did before I doubt our class grows anymore and we have to hope to keep it together. I know Nix committed when he had no coach so it is possible but the odds really drop.

No solutions please. I'm skipping my meds and going insane on purpose. I choose to wallow in despair and misery of my own making. It's kind of fun.

With the depth we have at linebacker, I'm not worried about this one bit... Obviously a solid player, but one who wouldn't see the field for 2-3 years. Dan fox and Carlo can send him a thank you for their graduate degrees and 5th years, but in the end, he's far from irreplaceable

it could be a blessing in disguise, he was looking for a way out

 

you cant tell me you are early enrolling in a school and the day before you are set to leave you book a flight to a school a 1000 miles away on a coach talking to an NFL team?? seems flaky to me

Solution??? Are you kidding me? Its hard enough to get kids to ND, now Kelly just blew this up. This is a million times bigger than Anzalone, this a hurricane that Kelly started with his bulls***!!! Every recruit should leave...samewith Penn state and their scumbag coach...who wants to play for someone you cant trust. Right when things were great Kelly just lied to everyone and screwed us all. I'm exhausted. This is far worse than losing...this is being given hope and then having it ripped from you. Cant wait to see who else decommits. This is disgusting. I don't even want Kelly. Please go to Philly.

in a weird messed up way i feel the same way. to me it would just be great to see every recruite decommit just to stick it to BK.

WOOOWWWW. Kelly gets paid less than 28 other coaches and even less than Charlie Weis....If he is trying to get a big raise, then there is nothing wrong with that. If you would choose Alex Anzalone over a chance at a 1 million $ or more raise youd be an idiot not to take it. But then again...you do seem like an idiot...

I would rather Alex left now instead of pulling a signing day surprise or a Lynch. I am a fan of his and as such, you should be able to speak positive AND negative. Kelly should not have been interviewing. Period. There is no middle ground, either be completely open about it or completely closed. If you are looking to leave, announce the press conference saying so and do it. His agent could have hammered everything out. This "trial balloon" in the media or attempt at more money hurts his age and the image of the program, bad move all around.

i agree. losing alex hurts but losing him on signing day or him transfering after his freshman year would just be to painful. it's best to do it now and just get it over with.

I've thought about this over night a bit. As far as recruiting goes, we've seen a lot of recent and renewed interest in guys like Hollins, Larue, Prevot, and AQM. This is despite only having 1 identifiable slot left, which I'm sure the staff have slated for Vanderdoes if he comes.

 

I think with as flaky as Anzalone had been previously, the staff knew something was up and were covering there bases by recruiting more top 150 athletes to fill in Anzalone's spot.

 

As other's have said, if you're Anzalone, you don't drop a planned trip west for a trip south on less than a days notice a mere day before you leave. Especially not when that trip involves all that enrolling early at college would involve.

 

This started way earlier than Thursday. I have a feeling we were going to be left at the alter Houston style one way or the other. Kelly's radio silence on an interview was just a convenient excuse to try and save face in front of everyone, including his friends/future teammates that he was about to screw over.

Maybe Coach Kelly orchestrated this whole charade just to knock off the hanging chads.

Let;s get Don Bosco's Muhammad qualified and take him away from Miami

Despite this being a big loss, we are going to get better and better on both sides of the ball. Anzalone was going to play this year and at some point pass Grace. He was coming in early and is a special talent. He is a 4.5 star person. But we still get a lot better with Jaylon Smith and Redfield. As a team we are getting stronger and deeper at corner, safety, outside linebacker. We are holding serve at defensive end and middle linebacker. Couple this with progressing at every single offensive position and we are in great shape. Next year, hit the home run at noseguard and middle linebacker.

 

Now, it is still possible to get Vanderdoes and another 4 star linebacker. That would really make this class special.

The solution to Anzalone leaving is: "MOVE ON!!!" The fact he switched and was enrolled at UF in a matter of hours tells us all that he was really not committed to ND.

 

Lynch, Jr. will be a better fit in Gator land.

 

Besides, I wanted both Fox and Calabrese back next season. This helps that situation. We have a bevy of great LB's. We need DT and NT.

 

Get Vanderdoes and nobody will fret about Anzalone.
