Stay or go. We've been resilient forever. We will be again. The cupboards are stocked.

I am somewhat sympathetic with that point of view rocketsan---we can't seem to escape being a soap opera at ND so we might as well just embrace what we can't control---8-)

if he leaves, then you can all freak out if you want:becky:

Stop agreeing with me old man, I'm starting to like you too much.

I wouldn't freak out then either. You can love Notre Dame...and then you can LOVE Notre Dame. Kelly loves Notre Dame. Until he adopts a Holtzian-Ismailish type of LOVE...I'll appreciate him but not worship him.

Great coach, don't get me wrong...then again this is far likely to be residual resentment about Tulsa and the long ride home.

Hell yes, I would care. It took them THIS LONG to finally get the hire right for this gig....not eager to go down that road all over again and see what they come up with.

The only thing that bothers me is how the situation is being handled. If philly asks for permission to interview interview BK, its not like the AD didn't know there was interest. Why do the actual interview unless Swarbrick wants to play hardball. I'd have to imagine the opposite would be geniune interest from BK.

Other than that, we'll be fine if he stays or goes.

Besides...he looked like hell before, during and after the game Monday. Maybe the pressure is getting to him...

This. Hell effing yes I care if he leaves.

After going through Davie, the O'Leary disaster, that dude who went 0-11 at Washington, and Weis, it will feel like a kick in the balls.

I really hope this is just posturing to get more money.

Living in Dayton, I was already pretty familiar w/BK, being just down the road in Cinci....I remember hoping the rumors of him bolting UC for us were true....1st hire since Lou that truly got me giddy...and then after seeing THIS?.....

I - WAS - GEEKED. No guarantee of duration of stay in that presser, but that didn't sound like a guy making a pit stop either. Another reason it would be disappointing if any of this crap is more than just leveraging for more dough at ND.

I'd get it if he left. He can go to the NFL and make more money coaching at the apex of the sport.

If he flames out, and history shows he probably would, it would take him 4 minutes to find a college gig.

I think it would bother me mostly because he was my first choice. I REALLY wanted Kelly.

I'm a HUGE Eagles fan and I hate the idea of him coaching my big league squad. He is perfect for ND, and I think he'd be a disaster in the NFL right now.. Coach a few more big ones and win 1 or 2 then we'll talk.

Life will go on. it always does

Life will go on, but how long will it take our program to recover?

Most of my life our football teams have sucked.

WTF is wrong with people? If you don't care about being a joke again then have fun! BK is all we have. Period. He gone and we gone. Let's be honest.

I'm torn either way..

I agree. Whatever happens, many people's perception of Kelly will be changed. If Kelly's goal was to become a legend at ND, this was not the best move for him.
