I am really excited about his future.

I think his first half performance was less than stellar due to the play calling. The deep passes killed his rhythm. I was honestly impressed with how he was playing in the first half, and then the second half came along and he was very impressive.

Think about what he was doing. He was playing with zero run game. Alabama knew he was going to pass (yes, alabama that GREAT defense), and he was still having no problem moving down the field in the second half. I honestly think he would have moved the ball down the field in the first half too if we werent taking so many deep shots.

Yet his constant under-throws on the deep balls cost us in the first 3 quarters. He is by no means the definitive starter.

He did not exactly have a clean pocket there bro to step into those throws but I see your point,

Yes but he did that ALL year on the deep balls, except that one to Brown at Okla.

Look, I'm not saying Golson won't be the starter next year and maybe even have a great year. But Kiel is coming hard. Let's see what happens come spring...

Golson misses reads when he hesitates and then has to try to make things happen with his feet after the reads are gone. He is not the lockdown starter at the QB position next year, i dont care what his stats were tonight in garbage time.

I'll buy that. But Golson Like Rees did starts with a nice size leg up because of experience, If he can close on him, that would be good because hes taller and can see the field better as a result

Kelly will make a good decision

Believe me BlackIrish42 I have no problem with competition it creates depth and depth as we saw tonight helps win games

This^^^^

A thousand times, this!

Zaire is in NO WAY ready to come in and challenge for the QB job. Kiel however will seriously push Golson, I think...

Unfortunately, I meant if the carousel continues the season after next. Really a worst case scenario for me. eg: if Golson struggles and Kiel doesn't challenge

by comparison we had 35 yards rushing I believe, It just does not make sense to blame Golson, Sorry, im done on this topic. Only ran 40 some plays, Golson Devaris Eifert and TJ stood out, as contributors so I stand by statement. Blame whoever makes you feel better i guess

Fine, you are done on this topic, since really the defense was the one who was embarrassed tonight. But this subject will be picked up before spring ball.

Golson did nothing before garbage time. He did little with his feet when pressured, nor did he do anything for 3 quarters when he had a clean pocket. The difference between him and Johnny Football (god I hate that guy), was JF decisively punished Bama for blitzing or dropping back. Golson waited waited waited....nothing opened....tried to take off running....nothing there.....scramble outside the pocket waited waited waited for something to open up.....threw it towards the sideline. rinse.repeat. wait for Bama to stop caring.
