Alabama remains #1 even though we have a higher star average. We both have 2 5 stars, we have 14 4 stars to their 12, they have 7 3 stars and we have 6. Makes no sense. I thought surely we had to jump them after we got Folston. In fact, we should have been in front of them before Folston.

Not all stars are created equal with Rivals. You have to look at their Rivals rating. Alabama has more 6.0 rated four stars than we do.

Thank You. I see on Scout we are third behind Michigan and Tex A%M, but we have a higher star average then anybody besides USC. Let's add Redding and see what that does to the mix.

A Redfield commitment will change all that. :)

Of course, I doubt Bama is done. Lets face it, it will be hard to beat Saban and Bama in recruiting. Academic standards are already getting in our way with one of our top targets (AQM), Bama doesnt have to worry about that. If this class is a consensus top 3 class, then there is nothing to complain about. :)

The academic standard is one of the biggest reasons why ND over the last 20 years have had a hard time getting good let alone good DL prospects.

Am I the only one who doesn't care?? Address the needs & finish in the top ten is all that matters to me. :)

The test to me is not the class rankings. It's who else the guys was recruiting the guys YOU recruit and who do you lose out to for guys you don't get. We are competing with big boys now and winning many of the recruiting battles. Hopefully we are done losing guys we recruit hard to Rutgers, BC, and other similar teams.

I think it's pretty lame how the #1 player is worth 17 more points than #2, but the #2 player is worth one more point than the #3 player.

Top 10 is not high enough. Gotta be Top 5, like Bama is, most years...

I agree with DJ. It doesn't matter what we are ranked. I think this class is almost better than could be hoped for...

QB - Malek - Perfect

RB - Bryant/Folston - Perfect

WR - Hunter/Fuller/Robinson/Onwualu - These guys are extremely under rated... Perfect

TE - Heuerman - Perfect (blocks and catches)

McGlinchey - Perfect LT

Elmer - Perfect RT

Montelus/McGovern - Perfect Power Guards

Bivin - Perfect Center

The OLine coupled with the crazy good backs and a TE that can block and is a threat to catch a pass is downright perfect.

LB - Anzalone/Deeb/Jaylon/Randolph - Perfect and top rated LB class in the country.

CB - Butler/Luke - Perfect

S - We need Redfield and it will be perfect. Kinlaw is an athletic freak that I think could be special as a Safety.

The DLine is thought to be lower rated than the rest of the positions. And it is just due to numbers but Rochell is a player I have personally seen play and do not under estimate the importance of this kid to this class. He is huge, mean, and tough. He doesn't seem to ever take a play off. He is constantly double teamed and even triple teamed a few times. And Rochell can stretch out a sweep on even the fastest backs. And I have stated before that I really like Matuska's fearless tough play. It would be nice to add Vanderdoes who would match up perfectly with the other two players ... meaning they are all attackers, all play rough and mean, and all three will be able to play anywhere on the line like Tuitt. And that does not even include AQM who I also really would love to get.

I don't care what Rivals thinks of this class. It is as close to perfect as you can realistically expect to get.

I totally agree with this assesment. Especially on the offensive side of the ball. I gave us an A at quarterback, running back, offensive line and tight end. I think B plus at receiver with an upside of an A.

Defensively it isn't the home run but it addresses our needs, adds quality depth and could go higher if we get Redfield and Vanderdoes. I would give it an A minus if we get both of them. No complaints at all, but yeah, I want to be rated number one in recruiting. I want to be able to tell all my Sooner friends that we have the number one class. Don't tell me it doesn't matter. I want it all.

Justice served. We are now number one on rivals.
