Just drilled smith from michigan, knocked his helmet off, and picked up the fumble with his left hand. One of the best hits I've seen this year!

Funky angle. And the stick still seems to be leaning.

So you think Manziel would have won this year if he had the exact same stats and aTm was still in the Big 12?

Yes, I do. Very similar to RG3 in my opinion. RG3 had the better arm, JFB had the better legs:

Passing Rushing Total Offense Rcord

Comp Att Yds Pct TD Int Rating Att Yds Avg TD Yards

RG3 291 402 4,293 72.40% 37 6 189.5 161 699 3.9 10 4,952 10-3

Johnny FB 273 400 3,419 68.30% 24 8 155.85 184 1,181 6.4 19 4,600 10-2

I don't think he would hear what you have to say!!

He knew the risks going in. He chose to play and collect the check. Don't come back after the fact and whine that you didn't know there would be consequences for repeatedly running full speed into another person.

I can assure you that, entering the nfl, double d did NOT appreciate the long term consequences of repeated concussions but, that's neither here nor there. Your original point was that it is overtly "liberal" and misguided to have a rule that discourages blows to the head. I disagree. I see no advantage of removing this rule as hard, entertaining hits can still be a part of the game AND these players have a better chance of enjoying a life beyond 50. This "know it going in" philosophy is unsound. Some risks are necessary part of a job, others can be safely mitigated. Should coal mining eliminate its safety standards simply because we all know its unsafe to bore holes deep into the ground? Helmet to helmet rules are here and are here to stay; you don't have to like it but that's no reason to come after the OP with guns blazing.

should stats against fcs teams count?

should stats against fcs teams count?

Should stats against Navy count, Wake Forest, or BC count?

Rice and SF Austin counted for RG3 along with some other really, really bad Big 12 teams.

comparing BC Navy and WF to South Carolina State? FCS wins dont count towards bowl eligibility and the stats shouldnt count. FBS teams shouldnt be playing FCS teams at all there are plenty of FBS teams out there to play.

lol, Navy, Wake Forest, and BC would beat the FCS bad enough that their 2nd stringers will see action. I cant believe you just compared those teams to FCS teams.

It's not a job. It's a game. It's a game we sign up to play to kill the other guy. When you kill the other guy, you jar the ball loose and you feed your thirst for blood. When you kill the other guy, you make room for the next man in. Quit being a vagina and let us enjoy our gladiator sport to the fullest. It's already unbearable watching the NFL. I love being in an NFL town on Sunday, because I can always get a lot of crap done while everybody's watching that watered down version of the sport. Anybody who's ever played would be lying if they didn't sign up to knock someone's dick off every chance they got.

On a side note, I don't care if they live past 50. They and their families are well compensated for their injuries. If they don't like it, they can play basketball. Also, you're exaggerating on 50, btw. I know plenty of football players that far surpass that age. These guys should be playing to create a family legacy with they money they earn so their kids never have to play. It's called sacrifice... Hell, what do they really contribute to society as it is, that earns them such large paychecks? Nothing except a television market...
