I know the context of how this got to be an ND battle cry. And I applaud CW for the attitude and the context inwhich he used/uses it . BUT, I crigne every time I see an ND fan post a thread about it or use it as their name. First of all, most of the people over-using the term are geeky little, pencil neck engineering or chemistry students. Secondly, most of those using the term have probably never played football and even if they did were far from nasty.

Fortunately, I rarely see posters over here use it. One of the many reasons I prefer this board. It is common place on Rivals. So, let me make a plea to insist that we leave the usage of that term to CW, the actual ND football team, and of course, Janet Jackson.

I can just hear how loud the USC, Mich, OSU, UF, and Miami fans are laughing every time they read an ND fan posting about "being nasty." Sometimes, I am embarrassed at how dorky fellow ND fans can be.

P.S. I would have made the plea over there (Rivals-II) but I got banned yesterday.

That's a nasty post Vagas.

Seriously, who cares if our fans sound dorky. I'd rather have them sound dorky than ignorant and mean-spirited.

By the way, what did you get banned on Rivals for? Were you caught earning an unfair wage at a dealership?

"Who care's if our fans sound/look dorky?" I guess I do. I've got a rep to uphold! 8)

No seriously, what did you do to get banned? This sounds interesting.

did you drink and post again vagas? what did we tell you about that? well, on the other hand it is friday.  you wanna get some beers later?

Yeah, sure, I'll get some beers. I think you all owe me!

So I'm sittin' here waiting for "jfschellcrna" (by the way that is the hardest name to remember how to spell in the history of message boards) to buy me a beer and he never shows up. so I had to buy myself beers all night! The nerve the guy.

Actually, unless "crna" was planning on driving out to Scottsdale, I guess he wasn't serious.

On a more serious note though, Scottsdale has the best looking ladies I have ever seen and I've lived in Miami, Tampa and other places that have some beauties.

Got to go now, the Scottsdale strippers are in the house!

I still miss Indiana, though. There are some hotties there, too, and probably the dumbest girls I have ever met! HOT and dumb. A winning combination!

hey vagas, sorry man, fell asleep. different time zone you know. good to know you're in scottsdale. have some family in the prescott valley. try to get out when i can. will definitely be there if a fiesta bowl is in the picture and i promise to get you back then. looking forwrd to a little arizona stripper action along with some football. kinda like chicken wings and beer. by the way, sorry about the long name, just refer to me by crna. im a guy who puts people to sleep for heart surgery. sober, of course.

Interesting, I've read that psychologists say that's why people post using the names of famous players.

You? No way! Is there no justice in the world?

while I do usually agree with vegus thats really a dumb post...sorry...by the way I love using nasty....hope the team stays that way and gets nastier (oops) and oh yeah I'm 6'3' 249 played what was called in the day a wolf back. While muscular dystrophy has taken its toll I was pretty tough in my day. Don't mean anything really just don't think that was a post I'm used to reading from vegas

Consider this a dumb post

Let's not encourage them to get any nastier. We don't need and publicity like the Boys from Troy and their wonderful Slip 'n' Slide.

I'm sorry if you think it was a horrible post. Didn't mean to offend anyone. I just feel strongly about it. It makes me wince every time I hear an ND fan use it inappropriately. It is really painful.

nahhh Vagas your fone. Let's get nasty to me means my old coach.

"A burning desire to win." We were the scoffed at, laughed at, scum, Catholics, poor less then blue collar kids in a bad neigborhood. We blew them all off. The upper class schools in the better neighborhoods. Hard scrabbled them to death. Paul Hornung came from my West End/Portland area of Louisville.

Sure Notre Dame is wealthy. What coach means is bringing in that ethic I just mentioned. He means that stupid kid RUDY. He means every other poor hard scrabble kid coming on board and taking it to them and shoving it down their mouths. That's NASTY! If you think your the best you ain't seen a Charlie Weis team yet.

Zibby is nasty :!: ...CWs phrase, "all day tough" also falls under the category of this thread I suppose. I really hope that Zibby lights a few people up this year. Hopefully opposing QBs and WRs are afraid of the thought of a pro boxer cutting them in half!!...Henne, Jarett, Derrick Williams, Calvin Johnson....I can't wait to see TZ lay the wood to them.

Hey when Zibby or CW or Brady use it, it is GREAT. When a geeky ND fan uses it, it is embarrasing! No one on this board is "all day tough"...except ME!

Come to think of it, I never responded to BGIF. I challenge you and anyone else to send your psychologist and whomever else you want over to my house and we'll see who the "geeky ND fan really is"! And if you think I am a fraud, send me a private message and I'll give you my address and I'll be impatiently waiting for anyone!

See you soon! I'll turn any one of you into a USC fan in a matter of seconds! No threats, just a FRIENDLY invite!

CIABATTA, peace out!

The more I think about it, this the greatest thread ever written. It is single handedly saving the reputation of the Notre Dame fan. You don't think so, ask your fellow USC, Uscum, OSU, Miami, etc. fan. They'll tell you what's up. Be an ND fan and act like one!

From CW presser....

Q. Can you comment further on the guy, Vagas, over on Domer Domain, what you liked about him, where you think he fits in for you guys?

COACH WEIS: I'll tell you what, first of all, nice to get a couple of posters back in here now. Just logging onto Domer Domain, watching him post, watching him how he carries himself, he's a big, physical, rugged guy, all day tough, just the typical guy I'm used to being around for most of my life. He posts real Nasty. He just seems to fit what we're looking for here in our posters.
