All season I have worn my blue #7 (stitched) game jersey...not washed all season...I have two other jerseys that I wear periodically and I was them...

 

However, I go and get my clothes out of the wash yesterday...and I freeze....there it is...washed...clean...good ol' 7!!! I calmly walked with it to my wife and asked "Why?"...no reply....I walked out of the room in distress.

 

I am sick over this...please tell me I am nuts.

Don't worry, my 14 month old will wear his blue #3 jersey on game day. We are 12-0 when he wears it.

Wear it 12 days straight leading up to the game - good as new.

Usually, I have some tangible degree of superstition. Not this year - I've decided to purge the inner Cub fan demons and get rid of all the Billy Goat logic in my head. Keep it to reason, trusting what you see on the field, and if all else fails, divine intervention that does not subscribe to decision making based on your lucky couch.

 

No gameday shirts. I try to rep the Irish if I can at least with the color of garb, but if not, so be it.

 

No ritual of where I'm watching. Truly, I haven't done the same thing two weeks in a row - nor have I caught every second of every game live (GASP!)

 

No food or beverage of choice.

 

No facial hair growing/management habits to speak of.

 

Pretty much everything I've seen this season can be explained pretty reasonably. Left it up to the big guy for the shanked field goal against Pitt, but in all seriousness folks, as long as Te'o is in the huddle for this defense, we don't need superstition.

 

Faith and reason - nothing more, nothing less.
