Posted August 3, 200618 yr Weis offered Summers-Gavin today we have a good chance with this kid, i would expect him to set up an official soon
August 4, 200618 yr The article on II says something like"will this offer speed up the process for MSG" anyone read this article???
August 4, 200618 yr yeah he said that we should be getting an official out of him. he says that we are near the top.
August 4, 200618 yr he hasnt said he will sit down with his coach in the next week to figure all of that out.
August 4, 200618 yr i havent heard much but from what i have heard he sounds like he very well could be irish hes not yet, and things change constantly but he had been waiting for this offer, i would like to see some comments after a visit its pretty much us versus the pac-10 on this one
August 4, 200618 yr yep, Pac 10, CU, Neb, OK, Purdue to name a few....hopefully he turns out like Nuss and pulls the trigger soon, a little assurance after Wilson.
August 4, 200618 yr This is a great offer, even though it is in response to James Wilson, I simply hate the hyphenated last name thing. Do you see how I am not shallow?
August 4, 200618 yr he lists a lot of mid-level schools like UVA, BC, Nebraska etc as recruiting him hard. ND should jump right to the top of the list. Matt said that "things looks good" for ND
August 4, 200618 yr its funny to hear nebraska named as a mid level school, can't say i disagree with you right now... i love this kid, hope we get him. we need him.
August 4, 200618 yr We also need his versatility along the o-line like a Bob Morton type. I really like that he is a back-up choice after we lose out on o guy like Wilson. Charlie has really brought us back baby!
August 4, 200618 yr its funny to hear nebraska named as a mid level school, can't say i disagree with you right now... i love this kid, hope we get him. we need him. You're right, on both counts! Nebraska's one of only 4 teams to have won 800 games. Their 4th on the all-time list. For the past 10 season, NU has the second most wins with 96. ND has 73. And ND needs OLs
August 4, 200618 yr Yes but this is the me generation... how is Nebraska the last three years. BTW given what happened with Bomar, Nebraska has a legitimate shot win the Big XII. I do not think there is one dominate team out there but I think Nebraska wins the North.
August 4, 200618 yr texas or oklahoma will win the big 12 oklahoma is not dead, they wont win the NC, because of bomar but they are not dead texas is loaded as usual, nebraska is not on that level, same with the rest of the big 12 IMO of course
August 4, 200618 yr Anyone has a shot at winning a championship game, look at FSU last year or Colorado a couple years ago. I think the team in the Big XII with the best shot at reaching that game is Nebraska. The South winner could be Texas or Oklahoma but both have issues and Texas Tech could slide in there. BTW, I beginning to think that TT could be a good longshot NC team. They play no one out of conference and have the offense that could pull upsets against both Texas and OK.
August 4, 200618 yr Summers Gavin was at the same camp that James Wilson was at. He has a good relationship with SC O Line Coach Pat Ruel. If he's Irish, that might be because SC has yet to offer him. If and when that one comes, we'll see where he's at.
