Massive week of games, especially with Friday being a full day. Teams in RED would help ND’s seeding in some way and the team I will be rooting for in the respective games. * All times are Central Time Zone 22 Ranked Teams play a decent game this week Thursday Night 6:30 - Memphis @ #17 Tulane - ESPN - Decent Thursday night game plus Tulane could get in if a number of things go their way Friday Morning 11:00 - Oregon State @ #11 Boise State - FOX - Dont see the upset happening, but there is a ch
A long time fan of DD, but more of a lurker than poster. A huge ND fan and a huge fan of the site. My girlfriend is even becoming a huge Irish fan. We've enjoyed a wonderful year together and things, including a soon to be engagement she does not know about, have been fantastic. Desiree, my girlfriend, is a wonderful woman. I recently changed careers that would allow me to go back to school pre-med biology major working my way towards optometry school. To compensate for our income loss Des took on a second job. Des is an eternal optimist, she is very giving and is extremely active in the Catholic church. Her favorite holiday by far is Christmas and she is loaded with Christmas spirit.
This past week we, unfortunately, received a gut check. I was at the college in a study group during finals week and I received a call from Des who was crying uncontrollably. The only man in her life that may rival me is her father Robert, a retired Marine with a heart of gold. Robert was in I.C.U at Kaiser Xion in San Diego in critical condition and non-responsive. A man pushing 62, but doesn't look a day over 45 and the epitome of health was ill. Des flew out immediately to California to be with her father. At this time we do not know what is wrong, all we know is both kidney's are failing as well as his liver. The doctors are doing everything they can, running all kinds of tests.
It is a very hard situation for both of us, I am stuck in Texas working to keep us afloat. I just recently picked up a part time job to help compensate for her being gone and out of work. Her Christmas spirit is gone, her optimism is wavering, understandably so. The man closest to her in the whole wide world is laying in a hospital bed and everything is in the hands of God at this time.
I am sorry for the rant, it's just been a rough week. God bless and thanks for your time.
