way to schedule the tough ones guys....

I would be embarrassed if I were an Alabama fan.....pathetic!

C'mon guys, stop hating. How else do you expect them to keep up their dominance??????

To be fair, this is a program on the come. Not that it will be a difficult game for us by any means so I do understand your point. If I had to compare them to a game on your schedule I would say Wake Forest. Occasionally decent but not usually.

Also, you might be interested to know that their head coach was our Offensive Coordinator from last season. To me this is about him being able to leverage his GOOD relationship with our program/staff for a payday for his new team.

That said, even with our OOC "cupcakes" this year our SOS according to Sagarin is 34th hardest in the nation compared to yours at 31st. I realize I don't think there is really that much difference from 31st to 34th. Both schedules are still very difficult and I don't think you faced a stretch like we did playing Miss.St., LSU and aTM 3 weeks in a row.

Here's an article from one of your hometown writers breaking down on comparative schedules for this year... http://www.csnchicago.com/ncaa/notre-dame/irish-talk/Comparing-the-schedules-Notre-Dame-vs-Al?blockID=813107&feedID=630

Hopefully the strength of schedule component of the playoff system will make it more important to schedule tough OOC games... One can only hope!

I think this is more about crimson connection rather thsn padding the sched....ie, Jim McElwain. CSU is in good opportunity with s good coach to access his old team and make moves to put them past CU in recruiting, etc.

Not even close. Wake Forest plays in a BCS AQ conference and has at least double the footbal budget that Colo. State has. Colo. State only played one BCS AQ team all year and that was Colorado.

I will agree with that but ND also didn't face a stretch like Western Kentucky, Arkansas, Fla. Atlantic, Ole Miss, Missouri, and Tennessee which included only 1 team with a winning record and even that was a 7-5 Sun Belt team.

Alabama only had 3 tough games all year and lost 1 of them. I'm not counting Miss State since they didn't beat any teams that finished with a winning record.

Agreed!!

Fair point...but we did face a stretch like Miss St. (overrated), LSU (legit), and ATM (legit)...

Stanford (legit), BYU (overrated, because they had a Top 10 defense, but still couldn't put it together), Oklahoma...and I just want to add Pitt...they were finally putting it together, and it couldn't be a worse trap game

BTW, just want to say that I hope you stick around even after the NC game...definitely appreciate your candid analysis

I would like to but I also follow a Bama board - tidefans.com which y'all should check out - so I am having a hard time getting ANY work done!

I like that game purely so Kelly can stick it to Molnar hahaha.....in a friendly way of course =)

edit: BTW, that schedule doesn't look too bad...as of right now, Stanford, USC, Texas stand out....perhaps Syracuse and Pitt as they are slowly headed in the right direction....

Good catch, thought the same thing. Better to have CSU versus Georgia or Savannah State(s) respectively...don't see any issues here considering us playing Temple and UMass as noted below. Gotta catch your breath at some point during the season.

It would be hilarious If the committee decided not to allow any team playing fcs schools into the playoffs without telling anybody. I think we'd be champs by default.

UMASS may drop off due to scheduling changes to accomodate 5 ACC games.

The SEC is grossly OVERRATED---The incestuous schedules that feature stunningly weak out of conference games and a few tough games against the handful of strong teams in the conference is NOT a credit to that conference.

They bamboozle the pundits & polsters into DISCOUNTING their losses because they are "quality" losses that only count as a half loss-----and counting every win as an achievment even wins against the western carolina CATAMOUNTS___:grin:----The irish faithful would never allow a match up against a team like that but bama thrives on it--they milk those games to rest & recover for the few good teams they play----rest on three to six games a years against teams INCAPABLE of playing quality football.--ITS A RACKET---

Do they get good players in the SEC--yes--do they deserve the lionization handed to that conference---NO!

Then beat us on 1/7 so we can see just how weak the SEC really is!

We will be delighted to oblige my friend---
