It's pretty irritating that they #1 play the game at 830 est on a Monday night. It's equally as irritating that it's on cable. I'm a teacher that has to get up at 5:30 and go to work on Tuesday. Everyone knows I'm a ND fan so it's not like I can take a sick day. On top of that, I refuse to pay 60 dollars a month for ESPN so I have to go to the bar on a Monday and hope that they stay open late enough. Play the damn game on Saturday night on ABC. Tuesday morning is probably going to suck, even if ND wins Monday night.

Completely agree! This game should be on a Saturday night. I think it would pull better ratings even.

Not sure I get the cable argument... Who doesn't have cable TV at this point...? Certainly there is a local watering hole that will carry the game. If you have no cable, this is the price you pay for not shelling out your monthly cable fees.

I agree 110% on the timing of the game. Monday night at 8:30pm is just plain STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hear all the crap about not wanting to interfere with the NFL, but who cares.

For all the people who would like to have a game party, who is really going to have a big bash on a work night.

The networks, BCS and NCAA don't give a hoot about the fans. This is all about the almighty $$$$.

I mean, would you rather Notre Dame NOT be in the title game?

I get it's not ideal for yourself, or others. But I'm sure they pick (A) because of the NFL playoffs. BCS wants ratings for their game, too.

But Monday night game, nothing else on except the biggest game in college football history. tons of viewership possibilities. you know you will be a trooper and stay up for it. a great experience and a worthwhile experience to be a little groggy the next day.

That weekend is NFL Wild Card weekend I believe, I'd prefer the game be on Saturday but that is the NFL's day. And believe it or not, a lot of NFL fans can care less about this game.

You're a teacher, burn a sick day!

I have ALWAYS hated big games on late at night during the week. With that being said, my boys are super pumped that they will be able to stay up until most likely midnight on a school night. Let's just hope that our positive emotion carries over to Tuesday to get us through the day!

Uhhh.....all I did was book Tuesday the 8th off, and *poof*, it's like the game is on a Saturday night....

Boom. There will have been like six months to schedule tuesday off. Saturday = ratings disaster. You'd lose a bulk of drive by casual viewers.

Yeah, hard to rationalize the concepts of "ND in the National Championship game" and "convenience" together. You've got 25 days to get creative, dude.

This is good for us people out on the West Coast......Gotta love Pacific time zone....

Thank you PST!

Yup...I'm taking work off early to watch the game...but we have large flat TVs mounted to our wall at the office, so I can watch at the office if I really have to..I just don't want my coworkers to see that side of me (i.e. yelling, cursing, possibly crying)

I agree with 100%... I will be on vacation so it doesn't affect me. I always thought this game should be played liked the Super Bowl. Play it on Sunday or Saturday. Preferably on Saturday since that is college football. A 6:30 start time just like the Super Bowl. Playing on Monday is just a way to cater to the rich so they have a reason to miss work and go to the game.

Thank you PST!

Amen, brother... Regular ND games on at 12:30 pm? Don't mind if I do! 8-)

what are you yelling at? the players and coaches that are better than us at everything concerning football :) I JOKE!

I feel ur pain...I'm a teacher too and I'm here to help. And there are several options.

1) Bite the bullet and take a sick day...easy peasy lemoneasy.

2) Plan something quiet and simple for Tuesday...make your weekly lesson schedule up a whole week early...I have to because I will be worthless on the 7th because I will be so fired up...and if they win...oh boy forget about.

3) Make your plan be to show the game the next day in class...close the door and hit play.

4) Show a 50 min educational related video...blah blah blah

Whatever you choose just know...your students will remember your enthusiasm/joy/excitement about the Irish that day but will never remember what lesson you did on Jamuary 8th.

Go Irish!

Hey, if you're a teacher in Ohio, you're union so it doesn't really matter how good or bad a job you do — you're untouchable. Just call off the next day.

Drink water and take aspirin when you go to bed. Get up and drink coffee and if we won you will be totally fine.

I'm up at 5:45 to leave at 6:15 to drive 45 minutes. I'll be up watching every minute, unless it's a blow out on the wrong side.

GO IRISH!!

First of all PST is and always will be the GOAT time zone.

Second, take a personal day on Tuesday

Third, I agree it is BS that it is on a Monday, and so late on the East.

But we all know why $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ its BS for sure

I think it's worth mentioning that if ND wins the national championship on Monday night in front of 20+ million viewers, it's going to be a lot easier to wake up on Tuesday morning than what people are portraying here. Or at least that's how my body responds to supreme joy. Going to be really hard to sleep before and after, especially if they take down the SEC powerhouse that is 'Bama for the national championship. Hell, I may not even go to sleep! There'd be a lot of online perusing in my house if ND wins that game. Might even look at the occasional Alabama forum...hours upon hours. lol

**and this all depends on whether or not you're not bonging Jameson during the TV timeouts. if so, hello Wednesday afternoon!
