I was thinking about the talent we have right now and how many players we have that will be drafted. I know some will sign as I drafted free agents like many of our players in the past but I want to focus on players who will be picked. Also I left off players I think have Potential to be drafted if they turn out like we hope i.e. Neal, Jones. Ishaq, etc.

OL-Martin, Cave, Watt, Lombard

RB-Riddick, Wood

WR-Jones, Daniels (these are iffy)

TE-Eifert

DL-KLM,Nix,Tuitt,Day

LB-Shembo, Teo

DB-Motta, Jackson

What do you think? Like I said this is just people I think have PROVEN they are draftable prospects already.

Day 1 Picks

Defense - Te'o, Nix, Tuitt, Motta

Offense - Eiffert, Martin,

Day 2 Picks

Defense - KLM, Jax, Shembo

Offense - Watt, Cave

Free Agent

Defense - Fox,

Offense - Riddick, Wood

Based on where I think they eventually go:

1st round: Manti, Eifert, Tuitt

2nd: Nix, Cave, Watt

3rd: KLM, Jackson, Shembo, Daniels, Martin

4, 5, 6: Wood, Riddick, Jones

Other guys likely to get drafted but too young to predict: Keivarae, Neal, Ishaq, Day, probably others I am forgetting. Plus, I predict Greg Bryant is drafted in top two rounds.

Agree with this list but I would also put Russell on it. Jackson and Russell are both guys that are making a position switch. Sure they both probably played it a bit in highschool but this is their first year fully dedicated to the position. Both guys are a pretty good height for a corner, and have more than enough speed to play the position. Both are some of the better tacklers you'll see in college, both have that quickness where they start and stop very well. They played fine this year and with more experience and dedication to the role you'd expect them to improve. assuming so I see both being drafted and having a career in the nfl.

I have no clue where these guys would rate with other cornerbacks in the country. However if they keep getting better as we'd expect, any of you guys have a clue how high these two could possible be taken?

Jones, Daniels, Day and Jackson? No way...

I think Day has shown he is one of the best in his class and will certainly be drafted when his time comes. Jackson has been great and I have seen him rated as high as the 6th best corner in his class. Jones and Daniels are iffy but I can see TJ being a 6-7th round. Daniels may be a reach. I'm not saying every player would be drafted in THIS draft, but from what they've shown so far will they be drafted when they are eligible.

Day and Jackson will make rosters too soon to tell about Dsniels.

I would like to think Riddick will be drafted, I just wonder about his measureables... so I hedge.

I am confident in Cierre's measureables, but not his intangibles... so I hedge.

Armando Allen ran a 4.52.

Theo will be around that. So will Cierre to be honest IMHO

I hear ya but Riddick has Something that cant be measured and that is HEart, Determination and the Will to win. Plus he is a Winner has had that trait from HS. With that Said his Biggest Question will be his 40 time going to Proday and Draft. I have stated Before if it was a 100 yard Dash it might be Pedestrian but in the 40 he should Clock In the High 4.4 to mid 4.5 range. He is a Specimen physically for His Height/Weight Which is also Plenty big Enough (believe he is 5"11 200 to 205)All the Lateral Agility Testing, Benchpress, Squats, Vertical ect he should also do Fine. I think Scouts will also take into account his versatility and the fact he should get Glowing Reports on his background Check(no Baggage) and his Smarts on the Game.

Counting the ENTIRE ROSTER from Frosh to 5th years there are 27 players that will be drafted in the first seven rounds. Thats not quite 1 out of three but its close.

aloha's

Thanks Kingwillball... I completely agree about heart and smarts... I see Theo epitomizing the team first, never-give-up attitude of the Irish on O. He is so consistent. I do know he hits the right gap, but I always wonder if he has just enough "pop" to do that at the next level... Cierre (when he hits the gap) just seems to do it a smidge faster or quicker by my eyeball-o-meter

He's had "light" duty as an RB because of his floating position changes which may actually be a positive.

I really really like Theo... don't get me wrong... and I think he'll land on a team, I just didn't have a feel for his measurables, and whether that was enough to spend a mid-round on him, and if he's late in the draft pick... i'm picking measurables over heart. And be pounding the path to a FA contract.

IMO, Jonas Gray was the steal of last year's draft in FA. When he recovers, I fully expect him to play with the same focus and power that I enjoyed seeing in his final year.

Riddick would be a similar steal.

I can see TJ being a 6-7th round

With 100% seriousness..TJ will be drafted first or second round.

Of the CFL draft. He'll count as a non-import player on someone's roster - a huge benefit for someone with his skill set.

It's still my hope that he goes to the NFL...

this article is shit.

Do U want me to Link the Numerous Draftnik Articles that Say he will be drafted instead ?

Yes, please link an article that shows he will be drafted higher than Cierre, higher than round 5, be an NFL starter, or run a 4.4 40 time.

No way in HELL he runs faster than 4.5. I will bet you a sig his average is over 4.52.

Why U against Riddick and all Up on Wood when Riddick has PROVED to be the Better RB? Wood is Great when He gets some Room but Riddick does all the Little Thinkgs makes the big Plays and in the Passing game its not even Close. Riddick is the LEAD Rb for ND all the Updated Mock Drafts will probably have him ahead of Wood although I think Wood has too much talent not to land Somewhere.
