From ESPN:

Four-star wide receiver Devin Lauderdale (Houston, Texas/Bellaire) was considering decommitting from Texas Tech before Tommy Tuberville took the head coaching position at Cincinnati. That news proved to be the proverbial last straw, as Lauderdale parted ways with the Red Raiders on Tuesday.

Now Lauderdale, a 5-foot-11, 173-pound speedster, is looking at visiting four schools in the next few weeks. Lauderdale said he will visit Oklahoma State on Dec. 18 and Notre Dame on Jan. 25. Cal and West Virginia also are in the mix. All four schools, Lauderdale said, have offered.

Not sure where he fits in with the grand scheme of things and numbers crunch, interesting visitor.

The point of continued recruiting in a numbers crunch:

1. A contingency plan. Hey, you never know.

2. Developing relationships. With high school coaches, programs, and regions.

Welcome Marle! Good first post!

It seems to me we have enough little speedsters who can logically fill the slot/RB role (assuming that's what they target this kid for). I just don't think the need is great enough right now to take this kid, but who knows?

It seems that we can take as many as 3 more kids. At this point we will take 3, 4 star guys and not worry about position other then DT (Vanderdoes). We no longer have multiple positions that need numbers.

Strong Oklahoma State lean but we get him the week after he visits OSU. Either way, I get to watch him play!!

I want him and if we don't get Folston then I think we may have found his replacement

I will be thrilled if get Redfield or Folson. If we get both, hot damn. That would be awesome. Love how this staff never stops. They just keep on going, and I love it.

If we only have three spots left, then I think Kelly is looking at Redfield, Muhammad, and Folston. This kid along with Bowers and whoever else that likes the #1 ranking will have to wait to see what they do. Vandero...might be the only exception.

Hooray! I've never been quoted by a spambot!!!

i got one on another thread!! :tea:

ND has footholes in three of the four major recruiting states/regions: Cali-West Coast, Florida-South, and Ohio-Midwest. It is clear Bk and staff want to forge a relationship with a part of the country that has been lacking in ND recruits but is very rich in talent: TEXAS-Southwest. The fact that we play Texas in 2015 and 16 has to help BK recruiting the lone star state like no ND coach in a loooonngg time.

Regardless, coaches around the country have to be shaking right now. There is no doubt a sleeping giant has awoken in South Bend.

I somewhat ignore this kid originally but he has an excellent offer list...

Alabama, Okla St., WV, Nebraska, Oklahoma, UCLA, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, FSU, Zona, K State, Oregon St., South Carolina

Interesting to see how this plays out.
