I'm so frikin pumped. We are #2 in Scout just behind Michigan and we have a higher star ranking per player. In Rivals we are pretty close to USC. Vanderdoes would probably make us #1. OK~~Who's next?? Can we get 3 more?? Do we unload Jamal James?? C'omon you gurus. Tell me.

Redfield would be a must or USC won't be caught.

This class is absolutely PLUMB at the 22 we have---The Bryant commit was the cherry on the parfait---we really don't NEED anything beyond holding these 22---

That said---with schollies left--a staff of robust recruiters--the title game coming up---its hard not to be GREEDY for another 5 star--or another STAR in most any position---

The pool of prospects--

AQM---very likely

Redfield--50/50

Folston--

Vanderdoes

next bunch a bit out in left field

sebastion LaRue

corey clement

deon hollins

so going from that pool--and using the force as usual

ODDS of one more commit---80%

Odds of two more commits--50%

odds of three more commits--38%

A class of 24 ranked in the top three would be a FAIR expectation--

aloha's go irish!

If we land Redfield, that would be enough to jump U$C... we have a strong chance of landing both AQM and Redfield. U$C doesnt have much room left to build the class, so if we get those two, we could jump to and hold the #1 spot. Even if we dont, I am already VERY EXCITED about this class, but I think it will be better than what it already is.

If I could say add one more recruit, i would say add to the big uglies on the D line. Vanderdoes is the only want I have anymore. Give me Vanderdoes for 23 Alex.

II still says Redfield is trending upwards. If we get Redfield and Vanderdoes I think it has to be the #1 class. Now I know we will probably get Muhammad. I think we would take all 3 if they wanted to come. Maybe at the expense of Carlo, maybe not.

I think it looks like we are going to pick up another 3 on top of Bryant. I'd like to keep Jamel James. I still think we are going to pick up a really big difference maker in this group.

I'm still holding out for DGB.

Is that a funny, or did you mean Treadwell?

I'm still holding out for DGB.

That's funny. :)

And in case anyone missed the memo, regarding Treadwell, IT'S OVER. We're not even in his top 4, and it isn't for lack of trying. I think the quick turnaround with Greg Bryant Jr. was our Christmas miracle - don't see lightning striking twice.

I see us getting Redfield and we will probably get Muhammad. This will give us the #1 spot.

Whether we get #1, or some team like Florida beats us out, we're assured a consensus Top 5 recruiting class. Gotta feel good about that.

Not to mention, I feel pretty good about our staff pointing to this season when talking to next year's class too. We've got a really nice leg up in initiating contact with kids in '14.

Redfield and Muhammad would give us a great crack at the #1 class from Rivals. Folston might be the cherry on top.

3 more spots - odds are, they're all going to be impact gets.

That's funny. :)

I wouldn't count out a January surprise. These young men have a tendency to give Notre Dame one last, good hard look just before signing their name on the dotted line for another school.

Thing is, we might not have room. Heck, 2014 is filling up as we speak (write).

I like to go to the master lists on Irish Illustrated. We keep getting a new name popping up. Two weeks ago it was Bryant. Now it is a 4 star decommit from Auburn. This situation is still volatile.....and fun!!

here are the numbers as I see it. With 22 commits, we have 6 open scholarships for next year, however that 6 INCLUDES possible 5th years.

From what has been reported, Wood is going to the NFL next year, so the top 5th years we want back are (in order of most important to least important):

Martin, Watt, Fox, Calabrese

If we ask all 4 back, we have two spots left for recruits, but it seems James will become ineligible, so that would give us 3 spots left for recruits if he "decommits." So realistically, we could get Redfield, AQM, and Folston AND still ask back all the 5th years we want. The only catch that has been rumored is if a 4th recruit like Vanderdoes wants to jump on, most seem to believe that a talent like Vanderdoes would be accepted before asking back Carlo or Fox.

If the scholarship chart ends up something like this, I could not ask for anything more

5th years:

Martin

Watt

Fox

Recruits:

Redfield

AQM

Folston

Carlo Calabrese or Vanderdoes (Vanderdoes is still a longshot though)
