Pretty sure he didn't mean with his mouth, but with his play in the NC game, like Vince Young did against USC.

Manti may not have won the Heisman, but none of us will ever forget the great season, and 4 years, he has put together for the university. On and off the football field, he is a once-in-a-lifetime player and person. He'll live on in the annals of Notre Dame history.

 

He still cleaned up awards like nobody in history and finished higher than any other purely defensive player. That, in and of itself, speaks volumes.

 

He has been the best football player in the country this year, and has carried this team through the thick and thin, through personal struggles, to an undefeated season that NOBODY saw coming. We are #1 for the first time since 1993, with a chance to win our first national championship in 24 years because of a defense that he led throughout the season.

 

He may not be leaving New York with the trophy, but he is leaving with the respect and adoration of virtually everyone in the country.

 

Now, it's time to focus on what's more important to him, the team, and all of us- the national championship. Let's bring home the crystal ball.

The constant lobbying and campaigning by those in the media bothers me to no end. Te'o was clearly the best player in the nation this year but those in the media won this award for the fresman

I can't help but think, in hindsight, how great it would've been if Alabama beat Texas A&M. We would have undefeated Notre Dame versus undefeated Alabama in the national championship plus Manti as the Heisman. None of this matters if we can win January 7.

If Bama had beat A&M, they would of given the award to McCaron. Up to that game he had not thrown a pick with over 15 td passes. it was no win situation for Manti but that is my opinion. It's like Kelly said just make it an offensive trophy.

A freshman has still never won the Heisman. Manziel is a sophomore with 3 more years of eligibility.

 

Hell, he's not even the youngest to have ever won the award.

One thing Teo has done is give a Def. player the goal that the heisman is a reachable Trophy! I do agree that Teo will be coming out in the NC game and laying out the lumber against Bama! GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
