Has anyone ever won every possible award they are eligible for?

The winner of the Maxwell usually goes on to win the Heisman trophy right?

Brady Quinn won the Maxwell in 2006 and was the runner up for the Heisman to Troy Smith

Not sure why, but I always thought the Maxwell winner went on to lose the Heisman.

Not sure how one player could win that many awards and not take the heisman, too...

Seriously, has any player ever win this many awards in one year?

They don't GIVE players awards because they think something else about the Heisman. There is probably little to NO correlation.

A lot of these awards handed out are from football clubs, etc.

I'm not 100 percent sure on the voting process, but any of us can pay to join the Maxwell Club.

Right now, a large part of me feels Manti will win the Heisman. I don't know why, I just have a gut feeling.

Should be REALLY close.

I just posted in another thread that I don't mind as much if he doesn't win it, that the Heisman is basically a media driven, offensive statistics beauty pageant. He's been recognized on so many levels, his season will not be diminished by a bunch of schmucks that fail to recognize what the award is supposed to stand for.

Wow.. Manti has really cleaned up.

I predicted he would sweep, but I knew that was mostly raging homerism.

For him not to win the Heisman would look kind of goofy.

What is the hardware count now?

Individual (total, head-to-head, QB only)

Manti - 6, 1, na (Nagurski, Butkus, Lombardi, Bednarik, Camp, Maxwell)

Manziel - 1, 0, 1

Klein - 0, 0, 0

If Te'o doesn't win the Heisman this year it needs to be made an offense only award from now on, it's as simple as that.

I think the last 3 of 4 winners of Davey O'Brian have one the Heisman

I believe Klein won an award. The Johnny Unitas

no, actually 10 of the last 12 lost it...............

Nice to see you turn around from your prediction earlier today. Drink the CoolAid like most of us. Good momentum now. Karma baby!

Thank you. I almost had a heart attack scrolling to the bottom of this before someone chimed in with this. Maxwell RARELY equals Heisman. The Maxwell/Heisman may as well be the Jan/Marsha. Nobody remembers the Jan. Let's go HeisMarsha!

Manti is the first defensive player to win the Maxwell since Hugh Green at Pitt in 1980, who lost the Heisman to George Rogers. And since 1999, only 2 Maxwell winners have won the Heisman (Tebow in 2007 and Newton in 2010). The deck is still stacked against Manti.

Manti has made history with the amount of National awards he's won. If he does not win the Heisman, it will now make whoever voted for the Heisman foolish and stupid and prove the Heisman is absolutely a popularity contest that means very little!

LOL. I could be wrong though because I'm interested how many votes were turned in right after Manziel beat 'Bama ...

Good point. Just hoping that the perspective of the voters goes beyond the idea that " Manzeil beat Bama". I know what you mean though. It could be that boner vote even though the TEAM beat Bama.

Yes, you are right.. my bad (or laziness)

New numbers:

Name: total wins, head-to-head all 3, head-to-head QB only

Manti: 6, 2 of 3, na (Butkus, Nagurski, Lombardi, Bednarik, Camp, Maxwell)

Manziel: 1, 0, 1 of 2 (Davey)

Klein: 1, 0, 0 (Unitas is a upperclassman award only)
