It's been totally silent from his camp the past few weeks, was wondering if anyone had any info to add beyond the fact that it's essentially down to us and Oregon for his services. Landing Folston and Bryant would be pretty damn fantastic.

His recruitment has had the least amount of drama out of the non-commits. He seems to be taking it really slow and keeping things close to the chest. At least we know his top 2, but which way he is leaning is a total mystery. Not sure if he has any visits planned.

Would like to set up a visit to FSU and is waiting to see who the coaches are at Tennessee and USF. Alford and Kelly will see him this week.

Kelly is there today I think...

I think we sent him Kelly and Alford. I feel confident about this one.

Good visit with Tarean from Kelly & Alford---according to his coach , he believes that Tarean has actually made his mind up and is just waiting ---he had alot of good things to say about the irish---

This one looking VERY GOOD at this point---

Bryant & Folston---that would be something---

aloha's

Apparently he has only visited oregon & us so if you don't think he will be irish, oregon seems the best reasonable alternative.

Given the likely prospect of chip kelly going NFL and the irish going to the championship game---the momentum from these final visits---i think ND is the much better guess here --

I THINK we get him, but a lot may depend on:

1. Cierre bolting (probable)

2. Where Chip Kelly ends up (NFL? Sticking around?)

3. James's academics

4. Bryant's impending decision

He may wait to announce, based largely on these factors.

Coach thinks he has already decided. My thoughts, Cierre is gone, absolutely. Chip Kelly, doesn't matter, the damage is done. James academics~~we lose another 3 star. Bryant's decision. Doesn't matter. We play multiple backs and we lost the top two toters. This looks good.

My spell check doesn't like the word toters, but I do!

So Calves, what say you? Did the Bryant commitment seal the deal as far as Folston not being Irish?

According to Sapp, neither Bryant nor Folston seemed to care about who else committed.

Wow. This is really interesting now. I hope we get Folston, but it just isn't so important any more.

Wouldnt mind seeing him play defense for ND

nah, Folston is the perfect athlete to play the Theo Riddick role. Folston has experience as a true RB and a true WR, that is rare, and well all know how much that has helped us this year with Riddick being a dual threat out of the backfield.

I think James will be ineligible and hopefully Folston will give us two RBs for the class. Bryant and Folston would be tremendous for our backfield.

I didn't know that about Folston. Bryant has also played WR in HS. Fantastic hands- maybe best in the nation as a 3 down HS RB.

Not really BI. I listed it as 4th in part because I viewed it as the least significant to Folston's decision. A senior RB looking to pad his NFL highlight reel? That's pretty tough to beat out for carries as a true freshman. And playing for the coach that pioneered their brand of spread option no huddle running game is a big deal too.

Basically, I think that IF James was still going to be in the fold, and say something like Chip Kelly stuck around, AND Bryant was in the fold, it might get him to rethink. But I don't think Bryant alone will deter Folston.

I definitely think he's still in play.

We could have 2 riddicks...fantastic....run one in the slot and one in the backfield....It'll be perfectly impossible to stop

Folsom is supposed to be that crazy playmaka from the slot or backfield whereas Bryant is a speedy back. Jamel james may be the fastest of them all though.

Had a hard time finding Bryant's 40 time which usually means it is not that impressive. I finally found it listed (on 24/7, I think) at 4.47, which is pretty impressive. But, from the film, I am thinking that might be stretching it a bit. And that is not to take away anything from Greg (nice first name BTW): his highlight reel speaks volumes in his favor. Just thinkin' out loud that it would be nice to be able to put some legit 4.40 speed out there, a la Cierre Wood vs Riddick, too.
