I'm not that familiar with him other than his record which looks respectable and he's a crybaby about losing recruits to other schools. He's in for a shock down here..

Not sure how etiquette works on the SEC boards you normally frequent, but if there is already a thread started on a specific topic we try to keep conversation about that topic in that thread. Starting multiple threads about the same topic just dillutes the responses and the conversation. It also makes it harder to read all the replies.

Yeah, I'm trying to figure out how to delete it. It's a much different format than I'm used to.. thx

I know this. He cried like a bitch when Urban showed up and starting using SEC poaching tactics on his recruits. He was quoted as saying: "I can tell you this,” says Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema. β€œWe at the Big Ten don’t want to be like the SECβ€”in any way, shape or form. I guess the B1G has some kind of gentlemen's agreement that once you get a verbal from a kid, the other schools don't recruit him.(goofy, I know) And Urban didn't play by that rule and flipped his top recruit.

Yep. That's the main thing I know about him. How do I delete this thread? Still getting used to the format..

Yeah and we are really good about sticking to that. *eye roll tide*. Don't sweat the multiple thread thing...

he's a big f'n pussy............

My cousin has seen him out in Madison on a frequent basis. I guess he just goes in, has a drink and usually buys a round for the bar. Also, drives himself from bar to bar.

Ha ha, sounds like 99.928% of Wisconsin to me.

Exactly why they loved him up in Madtown.

I love being in Pittsburgh, right now! Aaaaahahahahaha. 6 coaches since 2010 if Chryst heads to UW.

Β

Very possible. Hell, he's probably the front runner. The guy can coach.

I'm really interested to see what Bielema can do at Arky. He took over a strong program from Barry Alvarez and did well in 7 seasons. I'm curious to see how he rebuilds a program that fell apart in the blink of an eye.

If I were Pitt and that happen...I'd just hire the GA....it would suck so bad if we were in their situation....that has to be the worst situation in the country...they have 3 recruiting classes of different types offensive/defensive personel

Honestly, Arkansas has had a hell of a rushing attack over the past ten years...back to Houston Nutt. I think the last couple years were more out out of character for Arkansas teams. I think Bielema can do a hell of a job there.

Wave I've posted enough already but Bilema was not credited for the offensive gameplan. He relied heavily on Chryst and why the team played well below its talent level for much of the season. He botched the hire of the new OLine coach, ironically hired from Auburn, and was a pricklish dude in the football offices etc. I had earlier posted had he not won the B1G Champioship, there was talk he could be fired. This may have been a quiet "take the job" discussion behind the scenes and the comments above about Bielema hanging out on campus are true but he'd get hammered and piss everyone off. He was not well liked. We'll see what happens at AR but the students my daughter was with cheered when it broke. Chryst is the obvious but there may be others as well which is a minor concern to me with Diaco. Even though I'm a Wisc alum, I take ND football 24/7 over the Badgers...

For a guy who has taken a team to three straight Rose Bowls, I've yet to talk to a Wisconsin fan who is too disappointed in the news, and I've talked to quite a few.

Β

I think that says all you need to know, along with students cheering at the news.

According to XM 91 sports, Bielema must've not been on great speaking terms with Barry Alvarez since Barry's first comment was what? I'm shocked. That relationship must've gone sour this season.

Poll question in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: Sad to see him go: 34%; Happy:66%. 'nuff said I suppose. Good news is the paper listed 6 strong candidates and no mention of Diaco. Overwhelming is Chryst. Did hear from my friend in the athletic department and did catch Alvarez off guard on top of the fact he was out of town when it broke...AR is getting a real winner...
