If we're looking for replacements...Monty Kiffin is available...

:p

:puke:..........

I wish Coach Diaco all the success in the world, hopefully Big Jack sweeps in with a ton of $$$.

Agreed, I'm writing a check to the "Give Coach Diaco a Raise" Fund.

Actually, the more I think about it,

This is the way it is in college football. Unfortunately when you are good this is what happens. Alabama, Texas, and Florida lose coaches each and every year. I wish Coach Diaco all the success in the world, hopefully Big Jack sweeps in with a ton of $$$.

I agree. It is what it is. Just sayin' the timing sucks given that this bowl game is for all the marbles. It may not hurt, but it sure won't help. We'll see soon enough.

I saw this on IE. Apparently, Diaco has already interviewed with Cal.

BC will talk to ND DC Bob Diaco, but Cal has already talked to him, KState's Hazzell and MState's DC P. Narduzzi. ajerseyguy.com

Unfortunately we have no standing to complain about this (worry is fine )--given how we acquired coach kelly.

If we lose diaco--i would think a strong possibility would be MARTIN TO DC in 2013--he is who many of us thought it would be when kelly was hired--Alford to OC---and bring in a talented, strong recruiter to take alfords place. Just an idea.

aloha's

Why not Bob Elliot to DC? He's been a DC before, I believe.

Just sayin': Elliott was one hell of a DC for Kansas State. It might create a problem with Cooks, Elston, et al though.

just as long as he or Cooks is not the DC at BC or Cal with Diaco which is also possible

Alabama has kept their DC for years now...I would have wanted Diaco for at least another two years

How in the hell has Notre Dame allowed this kind of contact before a National Championship game? If I'm not mistaken, BC has to ask permission from a coaches current employer before approaching. If that is correct, and it may not be, then ND should not have allowed this before the NC game. Talk about distractions! If you're a sophomore, or junior defensive player, and you now know that your coach is likely gone after this season then this cannot be anything but a huge distraction. If this contact is allowed, then Diaco should have told BC that any talk of a coaching job will have to wait, in that he should be a tad busy right now. He should be readying for a Bama offense, not worried about an interview with BC. Not now!

They are never denied...schools ask for permission due contracts and courtesy.

It's the goal of ever assistant coach to move up the ladder.

Hey when you win this happens.

Win a National Championship and all is good !!

Report: Bob Diaco to interview at Boston College http://wp.me/p14QUi-uIj

http://irish.nbcsports.com/2012/12/02/report-bob-diaco-to-interview-at-boston-college/

... Veteran scribe Mark Blaudschun, who has a great handle on the B.C. athletic department, thinks the interview will most likely happen on Monday.

... Diaco is the antithesis of the SEC, so you can all but cross off Arkansas, Auburn, or Tennessee from this list as well.

... That leaves Boston College and Purdue, both places that should take a long look at Diaco. With Diaco’s roots in the Northeast, he’s got a great grasp of the area and has had success recruiting the East Coast for the Irish. While the Eagles’ role in the ACC isn’t necessarily the strongest, and Boston College’s facilities aren’t up-to-snuff when compared to the rest of college football’s elite, it’s certainly a great first head coaching job, and the academic and spiritual aspects are a great fit for Diaco...

Kelly is absolutely the last person who would not allow a coach to interview for a head coaching position while his team is waiting to go to a BCS bowl.

Just sayin' :-P

and in turn, it's less likely diaco leaves this year, especially to go to a team we play regularly although maybe no longer annually.

i also think diaco will use this to get a well-deserved raise.

Interviews are not hires. Keep that in mind...

Happens all the time. Not his fault . It's the way the system is. Good luck to him , he'll be gone after this year. I would imagine a few more people will be looking at him as well.

We are not mad at Diaco, but as Notre Dame fans, dont you think it is logical that we would want to keep Diaco for as long as we can? I want Notre Dame to offer a raise to him and see if that keeps him for a couple more years. I will wish the best for Diaco, but I am a Notre Dame fan before I am a Diaco fan (as is everyone else here) and a ND fan wants to keep Diaco for as long as we can have him.
