I didn't think I would ever root for Vanderbilt to get curbstomped, but I hope they get embarrassed in their bowl game then lose 10 games next year. I'm really glad we aren't in a conference. I forget...why do we let coaches vote? I guess it is no big deal if there is a coach's pole as long as it is meaningless...

Although the HCs should have some oversight of the process because it's their name that's on the line, it's usually the Sports Information Directors (e.g., Brian Harden at ND) that fill out the ballots because the coaches are usually concerned about other, more important things than watching dozens of non-opponent games each week.

Sure, during the season maybe, when the vote isn't quite as important.

 

But this vote is publicized and no coaches have games next week. Besides, no one watches every game, so everyone is guessing a little.
