corysold
Is there really any doubt he will win it?
jfschellcrna
god , please forgive me for saying this, but i think that poor bastard O'Brien from PSU deserves a shot at it.....he took a ragtag buncha nobodies and played some incredible hard nosed football.....that team shoulda lost 8 games, easily....... Certainly others deserve consideration, Snyder would be another. But unranked to #1? That's only happened a few times in the history of college football. They lost two players that were playmakers (Redd, Brown, Fortt). They still had a solid defense. I mean come on now they lost to Ohio who didn't pan out and lost to a bad UVA team. I give him credit but I knew this year he would have a decent team.
hawaiiirish
There are several good candidates--but for my money it's kelly---why BEACAUSE THEY ALL SAID IT COULD'T BE DONE AT ND!!! They said with our standards--our independent schedules--our long 20 year fall from the top of college football---they said we were ALL WHISTLING IN THE WIND WITH FANTASIES THAT ND COULD RETURN TO GLORY___ Well we did--under brian kelly--and everyone looks at our recruiting and KNOWS this won't be the last strong team-- Kelly has done what they said was impossible---nough said aloha's
ColinKSU
Darrel Hazell took Kent to its best season ever at 11-1 and has them going to a bowl for the first time since 1972.

Any other year maybe...but in THIS big 10? Blech. They didn't play MSU or Missed-again. What was a marquee win? Brian Kelly, no question. 12-0, frosh QB. Rattlesnake
Is O'Brien going to stay at PSU? Yea, he pretty much came in knowing all the sanctions were coming - and accepted the job in an attempt to save PSU's football program. I think he'll be there a while. IrishCalves
I'd consider giving it to O'Brien. Snyder deserves consideration too. I think Kelly may have slipped into the lead after the last couple of weeks - PSU fading, and KSU coughing it up despite having Klein at the helm. 2lakes
Given how long he's been at Notre Dame, all of the pressure, all of the restrictions, all of the haters, and all of the close games... you have to give it to the Coach who survived all of the turmoil of year 1 and all of the disappointments in year 2 and then talked Te'o and Eifert into coming back for year 3. Quite simply, his system of consistency, next man in mentality, the business-like approach, his handling of the QB question, his recruiting, and the philosophy of building this team from the D on up worked. I'm a homer, heck, yeah, but that really doesn't even play into my belief in this man. He's most definitely not perfect, but he is true to himself, he is a grinder and a fighter, and he is effective. http://www.etruth.com/storyimage/EH/20120918/SPORT02/709189903/AR/0/AR-709189903.jpg?q=100&maxw=800&maxh=500&tt
DomerDad95
BK, O'Brien and Snyder each deserve it. Each has accomplished what appeared to be impossible dreams. But I have to go with Snyder for taking 2-3 star talent and elevating them to the level of national contender for most of the season. Part of my decision is based on some things I know I shouldn't consider: BK already won the award once and has a long future in front of him, while Snyder is at the end of his career. Color me sentimental.

I think Kelly may have slipped into the lead after the last couple of weeks - PSU fading how did they "fade"...they barely lost to ohio state, then pounded indiana who was in the running for the rose bowl for awhile and then beat wisconsin
JTennant
Is O'Brien going to stay at PSU? They need to kiss his d*ck. No pun intended lol.. I was worried that PSU would keep him around as a security blanket and then cut ties after 4 years when the sanctions were lifted.
