moostache 0 Posted November 20, 2012 Share Posted November 20, 2012 I turn 42 in February...the reason I remember the '77 title so much is that it was the year my grandfather retired and they moved to Florida a few weeks after the Cotton Bowl...the twin events kinda made an impression since he used to come to our house to watch the games every week before they moved...no memory of '73, but I remember '80 Sugar Bowl very vividly even though we would not have gotten the title even if we beat Herschel Walker's Bulldogs... I was at ND between 76 and 80 . . . won a NC in football and, two months later went to the Final Four in b'ball . . . those were great ND sports times. Have ND in my blood (grandfather lawyer ND '27 married a SMC nurse in the log chapel on campus) . . . I now have children and nephews who are alums . . . Funny you asked because I'm home with one of my sick boys and we were watching the USC game from 2010 and he asked how long it's been since I've enjoyed a year like this that ND has had.....It's really been too long.
