Hopes for Saturday night (besides the obvious win)

- Cool heads by our players (Carlo and Big Lou come to mind)

- No injuries

- I want to see something special and new from the playbook

- Would love to see a Te'o pick six

- Would love to see Neal get a crack at a big crowd deflating return

- Would love to see an Air Force-esque run from Hendrix (assume he was brought in last Saturday to get SC thinking about that possibility)

- Would love to see Rees come in for mop up duty in the fourth

    I like those. For the sake of being concise, I have three wishes (besides the win, obviously):

    1. Manti claims the Heisman in dramatic fashion,

    2. Golson makes himself a candidate for next season, and

    3. ND converts itself overnight into the favorite in the NC game against whoever.

    1) Play like we did against Oklahoma: Manage the clock, keep the penalties to a minimum, establish early dominance on the offensive and defensive line.

    2) Nix, Tuitt, Shembo, Te'o and KLM each get at least one sack.

    3) Te'o pick-six, since he needs to score some points to be considered for Heisman.

    4) I hope we end the season like we started it...by putting 50 points up against a mediocre opponent on the road. But I'll temper that and say just win.

    - 4sacks or more

    - 2 InTs or more

    - 200+ yards rushing

    - 300+ yards passing

    ( the 4 above in our favor, obviously)

    - zero rushing TDs allowed by our D

    - 1 TD or less allowed by our D

    I ditto what Rocket said, especially the cool heads part. This game is going to be played with so much emotion and if our guys can't contain that between the whistles, then the penalty yards are going to rack up.

     

    Didn't I hear somewhere that USC is the most penalized team? If so, let's play off of that, get in THEIR heads and make them make the mental mistakes. Shifts on the D-line to create false starts (although ND was called for inducing in one game), talk a little smack while being able to back it up.

     

    Last, I'd like to see shot after shot of a dejected u$c sideline.

    For the first time ever, I don't care how bad ND looks, I don't care about awards, I don't care about revenge.

     

    I care about ND having more points when the game is over. If it is 2-0 or 73-72.
