ndomer4
I know being Notre Dame fans we cannot worry about other teams losing because we need to beat Wake Forest and USC still. I think Wake should be in hand by the third quarter and USC who knows they still have talent to play with anyone but I'm confident the Irish will finish undefeated. We know in College football anyone can beat anyone on a given day, we should have lost that Pitt game but we found a way. K-state plays baylor this week and this shouldn't be overlooked. This game could be 60-55 or something of that as both teams have great offences, wouldn't bank on it cause of the k-state defense but baylor has an offense. The Texas game is a better chance, that game might be the most likely of either teams. Texas has a shotty defense however and their qb ash is on and off, if he plays good texas has a chance. Oregon I just saw has 6 or 7 defensive starters out for the stanford game. I thought this was their best chance to lose and we shall see. Their defense is never the strong part but I watched a few games and it's better than it usually is. This could be huge, stanford should just pound the ball and play hard nose defense like they do and this game. Those starters being out could be big. Then oregon state I don't think they have the firepower to beat oregon but anyone can lose in corvallis as we've seen. Plus with the rivalry and all a slip up is more than possible. To be honest if the irish win out the national championship is a possibility. However it sucks we have to play the hope on other teams game but I am very glad the two teams ahead of us still play some top quality football teams. Franco
for Stanford to have a chance, they need to stick to their brand of football and not get in a pissing contest with Oregon the way USC did. Grind it out, and run out the clock to keep their offense off the field. If they keep it close in the fourth, they could win.
notredameroom
I really don't care right now what happens. Main priorties: Beat wake. Beat SC. We can get all angry and stuff now but there is no point. Super fun to speculate, but all of our huffing and puffing goes for not if there isn't a 12-0 record on the board. In a two-game season now. MUST finish 2-0 I'd much rather be 12-0, get left out and have been over the controversy, then be 11-1, leave no question, and have to listen to this "told ya so bullshit." a 13-0 season and being left out means at end of year there would only be two undefeateds. Of course you all know I want the Irish in the NC.

EddieAngel
Texas will beat KSU (if I keep saying it maybe it will come true). Texas got alley whipped by Oklahoma. corysold
Who knows why, but this just feels like a season of destiny. I'm guessing, ND wins out, K. State wins out, Oregon loses one of the next few games. No offense to K. State, but they are probably the best matchup for ND in a title game of every top team, unless Florida or Georgia somehow sneak in. It just seems that everything that could go ND's way this season has, after the complete opposite last year.

If we keep quiet that guy from the Buffalo Wild Wings commercial who pops up sprinklers on the field to send it into OT might not notice and ruin our season, again. DTCBND03
Keep in mind too that these remaining teams will "play up" to knock off a BCS title contender. Stanford has a new QB in Kevin Hogan who is much better on O than Nunes and fought back to beat a tough Oregon State team. Hogan has an arm and can scramble and with their running game and defense could pose fits to Oregon. Plus Oregon still has Oregon State and the Pac 12 championship but I think Stanford is the best bet for an upset given their team. K-State looks tough. Texas could play up and knock them off but I don't know anything about Baylor. Either way, this team has played solid all season and I wouldn't mind seeing them play against ND in the champ game (assuming Oregon loses). As for ND, I drastically underestimated them going into the season and saw 7...maybe 8 wins. I was dead wrong. This team has outperformed my wildest expectations so I am hopping on the confidence bandwagon and will state that we will kill both wake and usc. its time to deflate kiffin's ego! Go Irish! irishrb
I totally agree and keep saying the same thing. Someone will lose. Hopefully it's not ND....

TDUB
Texas got alley whipped by Oklahoma. I mean not just beaten, but violated. Still, Saturday is a new day Texas looks like one of the most improved teams in the country since the Red River beat down. They just smoked Iowa State 33-7, a team that Kansas State beat 27-21. Texas will beat KSU!
EddieAngel
Texas looks like one of the most improved teams in the country since the Red River beat down. They just smoked Iowa State 33-7, a team that Kansas State beat 27-21. Texas will beat KSU! They are better for sure. I thought that they dropped Ash and stuck with McCoy at QB, but it looks like Ash has turned it around. I am praying they beat KState. I just don't know if their defense is up to snuff. It is tough, so much distaste for Mack Brown, not even sure how I can root for Texas. Edited November 13, 2012 by EddieAngel

hawaiiirish
I have been liking the Texas KSU match-up for a few weeks now---Texas is 8-2 assuming they beat TCU they will be 9-2 ---they have moved up in the rankings to # 15 i believe---A WIN OVER KSU SAVES THEIR SEASON BIG TIME---they would be 10-2 --ranked in the 10 spot or so----have a strong chance at a BCS bid--- They have 10 sophs starting--they are a young team that is IMPROVING---The QB david ash is playing his best ball over the last couple of games---- SO FREAKIN MUCH PRESSURE ON KSU__A LIFETIME OF PRESSURE IN THAT GAME---that offsets home field totally IMO---- I REALLY LIKE TEXAS IN THIS GAME!!---- aloha's go irish! mcdougal93
As long as that slip up is not us vs. sc I will be alright. I think Oregon can and will lose and everything will work it's way out
piratey
I honestly think we match up better against Oregon...I know I am in the minority. But if you've watched Oregon this year, you'll recognize two things: 1.They don't play defense 2.Most of their big runs come from missed tackles. I'm not speaking in hyperbole when I say USC had more missed tackles against Oregon than we've had all season. It was embarrassing to watch USC tackle. I said that about Oklahoma and Texas. Oklahoma put up a 63spot on Texas before playing us and everyone was freaking out. But if you watched that OU/UT game, it was all missed tackles. We.Don't.Miss.Tackles. We're top 10 in not allowing plays of 20+yards. Top 5 in plays of 30+yards.
