corysold
Brian Hardin tweeted that ND got one first place vote in the coaches poll (I'm guessing Kelly) and was no lower than 5th on any ballot. WTF? Who the hell is voting ND 5th at this point. I could MAYBE see 4th, but 5th? Come on.

corysold
Rocket, your "Woe is us, we can't beat anyone bad" schtick is getting old and tired. ND has the most wins vs. top 15 teams. The most wins vs. ranked teams. The most wins over BCS teams. The most wins over winning teams. And the most difficult schedule of any team in the top 5. And they are 10-0. If you want to look to close wins over Pitt and BYU as evidence they don't deserve it, that's fine, whatever. I'll take the two top 10 wins on the road, the top 15 win at home. The 10-0 record. The #1 scoring defense. You can talk about "close" games til the cows come home. ND is 10-0. Anyone voting them lower than 3rd has an agenda. Rocketsan
Rocket, your "Woe is us, we can't beat anyone bad" schtick is getting old and tired. Sure we can...we've beat at least five bad teams this year...
hawaiiirish
We are the ONLY team with wins over two top 15 teams and we lead the country in scoring defense and we lead the computers in UNBIASED evaluation of our season---- ANYONE WHO RATES US #5 HAS AN AGENDA & A DISLIKE----I'm talking about you MR SPURRIER--- Personally i would be very reluctant to see some factual basis for MR SPURRIERs desire to lower our ranking & i would caution others on that count---you don't want to be on his side in this discussion--- aloha's

smaster
Rocket, come on, really? I agree that many of our wins have been under-whelming, but for any coach to put us worse than #3 is insane. I'm not even saying we deserve to be #1 or possibly even #2, but putting us behind a 1-loss team (which likely has as many or more creampuffs on its schedule) points to ulterior motives. Corysold gave you all the evidence you need. Your "I'm the Voice of Reason" bent doesn't apply here.
piratey
Someone who's watched our games? You obviously have neglected to watch SEC football the last five years. We play big boy football, it won't win a beauty contest but I like our chances against anyone, anywhere.
Franco
I can do you one better. Check out the ESPNU fan rankings... http://espn.go.com/college-football/rankings 1 Oregon 2 Kansas State 3 Florida State 4 Clemson 5 Oregon State 6 Stanford 7 Alabama 8 UCLA 9 Notre Dame 10 USC There is all sorts of wrong with this list
IRISH812
I'm assuming SEC coaches are voting GA and AL ahead of us. I don't see how these votes can count toward the BCS. Everyone is going to vote to favor their team. It isn't all based on eye test. Eye test comes into play when you have multiple undefeated teams from major conferences and you have to separate them. Not to mention these coaches rarely have time to actually watch and evaluate other teams.

Phillydomer
Rocket, can't believe you're serious. We're the only one of the top three teams who didn't play an FCS school this season. We have more convincing wins over Miami and OU than Kansas State does. Meanwhile, Oregon's best victory is over a three-loss team coached by college football's ultimate nincompoop (and even that team hung 51 points on them). Kelly said it today in his press conference and I agree: our style points come on defense. We have the nation's best scoring defense and it's like a boa constrictor that just suffocates teams when they reach the red zone. It's no coincidence that defense-first teams have won the last string of titles and that team with gimmicky offenses like Oregon have fallen by the wayside. Drew2975
I won't say we should be number 1 but we are clearly seeing some bias in the polls. Sad thing is our ineptitude for years probably has contributed to this bias if only to reinforce it.
suhoney24
notre dame has beaten 4 top 25 teams with one left kansas state has 4 as well including 3 in 3 weeks with one left oregon has 3 with two left ...so if we all stay unbeaten we all would have beaten 5 ranked teams throughout the season... just throwing this out there... MantyIrish
you can see how the AP votes here..... http://www.pollspeak.com some have Ohio State ahead of us, some have Alabama ahead of us. BUT, it doesn't factor into BCS. I think only the 'final' coaches poll of the year is released. Based PURELY on Strength of Schedule and wins over common opponents, I sure as hell would vote ND 1 and Kst2 and Oregon 3. If all three win out...ND 1, Oregon 2. Margin of victory should only be looked at IF you also take into account strength of schedule. IMO.
