nd1989
http://notredame.247sports.com/Article/Notre-Dame-Two-Deep-Depth-Chart-BC-99794 Two deep for BC came out today. Worth noting -- due to Tate's injury, Nick Martin has moved over behind Lombard, and BRUCE HEGGIE is listed as backup to Mike Golic. Who would have thought, and he's only a JR. BTW did you see the size of that boy? 6-5 285.
mtl_irish03
He's actually a RS Soph. Bruce!!! But let's be honest here... Martin is covering both RG and RT spots right now.
nd1989
But let's be honest here... Martin is covering both RG and RT spots right now. I think this is the truth, but it's still great to see him there!

I am confident in a blow-out because it is an away game.

Pregame
I'd like to see Heggie get some touches in this game, really show the amazing level of talent of he has displayed his entire career.
NDsection23
Somebody tell Echo and Colin to break out their Heggie jerseys for good luck this game!
NDBadaBing
The thing you guys dont get is by giving Heggie a scholarship we were not able to offer a scholarship to that key four-star recruit who would make the difference between us BEING 9-0 right now and us BEING 9-0 right now. And as you can see, that would have made all the difference in the world. I can't believe you can't see that. Anyway, it's obvious all you guys care about is finding the next Rudy. In the meantime I'm looking for the next Manti.

yikityyakirish
I disagree its "Great" to see him there because that means our depth is getting weaker but it does shut some haters down

We do have depth issues on the OL. We've been fortunate that it hasn't hurt us this year.
echo88
Somebody tell Echo and Colin to break out their Heggie jerseys for good luck this game! Just for clarification, I didn't have anything to say when he was offered. Although I disagreed with the offer, I wasn't very vocal about it. I think you're confusing me for someone else. NDBadaBing
Yeah, I mean it's not like we've had to turn away any 4-star guys this cycle cuz of a numbers crunch or anything! Oh, wait... Carry on! When you are recruiting your ass off like this staff does turning away 4-stars is always going to happen. That's a great thing. We are approaching a period in which we are assembling an embarassment of riches. Thre is not one player who we reluctantly have to tell there is not enough room for in this cycle whose absence will be the difference in us meeting our objective or not, and if that player exists Brian and the staff will figure out a way to make the numbers work to make room for him. Heggie's presence has not, nor will it, ever be a significant detractor relative to our goals. And BK offering him a scholarship was not the red flag some people here warned of relative to BK's recruiting. It was much to do about nothing. On top of which, the kid has worked his butt off and positioned himself in the two-deep depth chart, which makes him a relevant part of the Notre Dame program. And I, for one, am happy for him. And I, for one, am happy for him. There's countless examples of unranked players in HS, making names for themselves in college and in the pros. It's always good to see players dedicate themselves and becoming players that contribute to top programs. We have one on our team currently contributing in many games - Chris Salvi. It's good to see what he's done and I'm happy for him. He's also using a scholarship. Next year, maybe Bruce will contribute in the same way. One thing we know is these two players are in the two deep because of the effort they are putting in, and the results they're able to achieve. They are also being coached up and developed physically by a remarkable staff.
