BI5224
This scouting the next opponent thread usually gets started on Sunday after the game. Is this a sign of where everyone was emotionally on Saturday? Ok, on to business. Boston College is a team sitting at 2 - 7. Statistically they rank as follows: 1. Total Offense: 90th 2. Passing Offense: 27th 3. Rushing Offense: 118th 4. Scoring Offense: 96th 5. Red Zone Offense: T 106th 6. Total Defense: 109th 7. Rushing Defense: 116th 8. Passing Defense: 71st 9. Scoring Defense: 85th 10. Red Zone Defense: T 43rd Of course statistics can be read into deeper than just looking at the rankings, but this is all I can do for now. The only thing this team has going for them is the amount of passing yards they put up per game. Problem is they're not putting points on the board. They're one dimensional, passing being their strength. All I can say about the defense is they're bad. Now I'll pass the baton. corysold
BCis probably the worst team ND plays this year. If it was home game, ND wins by 3. On the road, I'll be surprised if it is within 30.

brian_nd88
against wake on saturday, i think they ran for 12 yards. however, they threw for 357 yards with 3 interceptions. i'm guessing their offensive line is not a strength like it often has been at b.c. imroc
But yes, theyre statistically a passing team. They will throw the ball a lot and the law of avgs will work to their favor and against them.

nd1989
Surprising - not one question about BC. Questions about tickets, Brian going home, Everett, the same number on the field, etc. Obviously not much concern about BC.
OklahomaIrish
This is what the doctor ordered. I want a shut out so we can regain the lead over Alabama in points given up per game. I also want negative rushing yardage and I think that is quite possible. This will be a fun game and hopefully Texas A & M can upset Alabama. If that is the case, this board will get really heated. irish21
Boston College is as bad as it gets. Statistically speaking, they can throw it around a little bit, but have absolutely no running game. They can't play any defense either. They are in the bottom five against the run. This should be worse than the beating that we put on Miami. We're going to outgain this team about 550-215 on Saturday. The only way we lose is if we turn the ball over 4-5 times. Not happening. OklahomaIrish
They lost their starting running back. Time to put up half a hundred, a goose egg and get some stats.

BC managed 5 rushing yards against us when they had Montel Harris 2 years ago. They had 12 rushing yards against Wake Forest last week. They will have negative rushing yardage on Saturday. They had 12 rushing yards against Wake Forest last week. They will have negative rushing yardage on Saturday. I don't even think they'll try and run, unless Pitt exposed some glaring weakness in our scheme last week rather than it just being an off-night for the defense in the first 3 quarters. So, between that and what I'm assuming will be several QB sacks, you may be right.
