What do you guys think of him? Will he be Irish? I haven't heard too much about him except that he really likes Florida and Georgia. Where do you think Allen ends up and why?

Good chance he'll be Irish. Seems like a real bright kid from his interview on PowerHour, likes how ND is recruiting him. Our depth is favorable for him, we just need to get him up for a visit. Chances get better w/ him as guys like Rainey commit instate.

Rainey appears to be recruited as a slot WR so he probably doesn't fit in the equation. I think he may end up at Georgia with King though. UGA needs some backs.

I do not think our chances with Allen are nearly as good as some here do. He wants to stay home, and if he has to leave FL I do not see him leaving the South.

Georgia needs back??? Most national magazines rated Georgia as the top stable of running backs. They are all Juniors and have another year after this... Plus, the freshman Moreno was a pretty good prospect last year.

You're exactly right Jag, they'll all be back next year. And i live in NJ, and believe me, Knowshon Moreno is an excellent back. After those three leave he will probably step right in.

Sunshine, point taken w/ Rainey, except he verbed to Gators. Popular sentiment on this board is King to Auburn.

I said that I think Allen will verbal to UGA, not Rainey. Rainey already is a Gator.

Sounds like he eliminted UGA and is now considering USC, Florida, Notre Dame, FSU and Tennessee.

Jag is right.

If AA is looking for opportunity then I would have to say that UT and ND would be the two schools with the best opportunity to play soon. I believe that if Darius Walker has a good year then he will most likely go to the draft. Aldridge will step up but his knees have been questionable and Prince will not be big enough to play every down. Schmidt is a big back and can put up some yards but will most likely be a fullback and will most likely be in quite a bit in the passing game because of his size and the fact that Quinn will need more protection because there will be some holes in the line. Schwaph could see some time there too. So we definitely make sense for him.

I agree with everything you said Chiro except that DW goes to the draft... I don't think that he has the intangibles, ie combine numbers, to be first day back at this point. He reminds me alot of Autry Denson, my favorite ND back ever, a great college back that could leave ND as it's all time rush leader but may not have a great NFL career ahead of him.

I think that, like last year, the running game will kinda be an afterthought on a team that puts up huge passing numbers. I think that being the focus of the offense in '07 and that could help improve his status... at the very least he completes school and has something to fall back on after football.

DW will stay for his senior year no doubt about it. When he was in high school the police mistakenly identified him and roughed him up pretty good outside a theater. He got something like ten million in the settlement and has no worries about money. I think I saw the article in the SBT a couple months back.

In addition DW gets Notre Dame and loves Our Lady with his whole heart. He will stay where he will get himself a degree that is going to serve him well his entire life. He is very bright and a class act. Barring something unforeseen he will be the all-time leading rusher.

I'm not sure how he will do in the pros... His 40 time will definitely hurt his stock... I think he definitely comes back for his senior season...

It was a 3 million dollar settlement

It was a 3 million dollar settlement

That's what I recall reading.

Regardless of the sum, Jag's comparison to Denson is accurate. Not a bad guy to be compared to but Denson's longest run from scrimmage was 54 yds. Unless Walker suddenly develops that missing top gear he's destined for just another great 1000+ yd season.

He's going to have post an incredible season, more like 2000 yds, to make him prime draft material. Quinn, McKnight, Samardzija, Carlson and CW's game plan don't make that seem likely.
