indyirishdad
I don't care if he misses 9-10 kicks as long as he makes the one that counts. He gets my vote.
2lakes
He'll figure it out. Gotta believe. Isn't Diaco the kicking expert on our staff? Are you saying we should fire Bob for his handling of the kicking game? BTW, I saw Diaco up close during the walk to the stadium (you want to get close to the players and staff, go toward the Gug, especially right behind the Jordan Hall of Science). Bob strikes me as a little bit "cra-zy," man; but he's def my kind of crazy.

nd1989
I'm surprised at all the love for Kyle. He has a great leg and all, but he's inconsistent. Brian states as he gets older he'll get more consistent. Well, we're lucky the inconsistency hasn't lost a game yet. We need Kyle to step it up, we shouldn't be giving out scholarships for 60% kickers.
IRISH812
I honestly couldn't watch his kick in OT to tie it...I know he has hit all the clutch ones so far but I had to turn around and close my eyes...I figured I'd hear an eruption from the crowd if he hit it and when I didn't hear one I thought he missed until the announcer said he snuck it in
Rattlesnake
They have a special name for it: "water break." LOL. So true.. I started to wonder if they had just given up on ST, but BK looked pretty upset when he was asked about Goodman. I bet our mediocrity (I'm being generous here) drives him crazy. dangeruss
the only problem i had were his kickoffs. i don't think it was brindzas fault he wasnt kicking them out of the endzone, i think BK told him not to. it almost cost ND so many times, pitt nearly broke a few. nremdn
There really is no way to sugar coat it, Brindza clearly is not up to handling the pressure yet. The kid has proven he has plenty of talent and leg to make most any kick, I just think the pressure gets the better of him at times. It sure seems like every close game ND has had this year has been made closer by Brindza and that is a problem that needs to get fixed in a hurry. So far the team has been able to overcome the points he is leaving on the field, but eventually that kind of stuff catches up with a team. He needs to do whatever it takes to get his head right and bring his mental capacity up to his physical capacity.

Maybe you can count the extra point, but he's made a ton of "pressure" kicks, it has been the 40 yarders in the first half that he has missed. From memory of pressure kicks: GW vs. Purdue - make Game clincher vs. Mich. St. - make Send Stanford to OT - make OT vs. Pitt - make Game clincher vs Oklahoma - make I can't think of one "pressure" kick that he's missed this year. Sort of odd. I meant the pressure of the situation, not certain individual kicks. It's clear the kid gets rattled. You can have your opinion all you want, but every field goal he has missed have been in close games. Every kick in those situations are pressure kicks. So if it has nothing to do with not handling pressure then why exactly is he missing extra points? That is the sign of a kid that is ice cold mentally? The ONLY and I mean ONLY reason you miss extra points are bad holds or mental error. Plain and simple. Sure, I give him credit for making big kicks at the end when we need them, but most of those games wouldn't have been as close if he had not choked under the pressure earlier in the game. I get what you are saying, and yes, the kicks he has missed have been in games where the score was close. However, every kicker is going to miss kicks. Brindza is 45th in the nation is accuracy, so it isn't like he is one of the worst kickers in the country. So excusing the fact every kicker misses, when he's absolutely "had" to make it, he's perfect this year. That is worth something.
