corysold
I get that ND hasn't looked great in a few games, but roughly 9 coaches don't even have them ranked 4th as of now. I mean come on. You can take rankings for what they are, but you can't try to tell me that being undefeated at this point doesn't make you the fourth best team. corysold
We are a poor 9-0 team. Plain and simple... You can say we are whatever you want. The fact is, Georgia, the team presumably voted ahead of ND, has exactly ONE win over a ranked team and lost 35-7. Don't try in anyway to convince they have done a single thing to be ranked ahead of ND.
Gettysburg Irish
I always thought the coaches' poll would be skewed due to coaches voting in ways that benefit them.
Alteredboy
Pretty sure they DO NOT release how particular coaches vote........right? I can promise you that 75% of those 9 coaches are from the SEC. I 'get'' that we may not be a "dominate" team in SOME regards but for crying out loud, unranked after this point in the season? Give me a break. As soon as Spurier, miles and even John L Smith know they aren't invisible anymore, maybe they will have more integrity. (LOL ...... yeah, fat chance)

hawaiiirish
The coaches poll is never going to be favorable to us---but it doesn't matter given the situation as it stands-- On Cory's point though --does a ONE LOSS sec team like georgia deserve to be ranked above us---ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY NO!!!!!!!!! I have no problem with being #4--its where we belong IMO--but coaches that drop us below four are doing so for NON _FOOTBALL REASONS----To help their conference--an anti-ND or anti kelly bias---some kind of SEC worship that gets to be religious and non-sensical----any of those reasons or some others --- We are #4 and thats exactly where we belong--so i wouldn't worry about a few OUTLIAR COACHES WITH THEIR OWN AGENDA! aloha's

I'd perfectly understand if every coach voted them #4, which would give them 1298 points. They have 1289, so they are below four on at least a few ballots. BI5224
We are a poor 9-0 team. Plain and simple... I wouldn't say "poor". Inconsistent, yes. We didn't see a "poor" team last week against a top 10 team in a hostile environment. Unless I'm speaking for myself but I though that was a damn good team. We saw a good team against Navy, Mich St., Miami, just haven't seen that team show up every week.

The SEC has earned their spot as the dominant conference since their top four teams every year can beat pretty much any other conference top teams every week. Also, they have dominated in the national title game and until somebody steps up and takes that away they will get what they deserve. We don't deserve their kind of status because we haven't earned it yet. As of right now we beat Oklahoma soundly yet fall on our face and barely get by BYU, Pitt, Purdue, and Michigan. When we step up and actually beat teams soundly every week then we can say we are getting screwed but as of now we haven't done it.
piratey
Poor translates to glaring deficiencies. An anemic offense...We are very VERY lucky to be undefeated. Dude. Alabama is VERY, VERY lucky to be undefeated. They had absolutely no business winning that game. Be it mad hatter tom foolery faking FGs and onside kicks, to two missed FGs, to a senseless prevent defense in the final minute and a half that gave Alabama a free pass down the field. I think McCarren had 90yds before that 70yd drive to win it. Good teams win, you can fake it for a couple of weeks. You can't fake 9-0. notredameroom
Go try telling anyone on that team they are are "poor" 9-0 team. they'd scoff and walk away from you. those kids bust their asses every day. so don't say they are "poor." No way anyone of us on this board is any better than what anyone on that staff does.
