What will the tone of the Irish be on Saturday??

The score is one thing i doubt we have any posters that are predicting an upset ---so instead please predict the tone of our team at home saturday after the emotional oklahoma win.

I see three main possibilities:

FLAT----the irish come out clearly deflated from all the emotion---slow on offense and perhaps even a bit lethargic on defense--making for a closer then should be contest.

WORKMANLIKE---the irish come out slow & steady--run the ball , play solid, not many mistakes but generally a bit of a lackluster albeit workmanlike winning effort.

ON FIRE___the irish come out like its the 5th quarter at norman---running the ball , a hot golson---a fired up defense enjoying the competition---a team that clearly overwhelms an outmanned pitt team by several TDs.

whats your guess on the mood of our wonderful team ?

aloha's go irish!

Interestsingly, I vote for the third. I see this team as having gelled and now are just itching to test drive the new wheels. I see them FINALLY putting the pedal to metal and not looking back (ala how they kept on against Miami and then Cam - "get him in the endzone" mentality) . . . I see a fired up ass whoopin . . .

i'm thinking workmanlike to start the game. then in the second half we will wear them down on both sides and start to put up bigger numbers. similiar to the miami game.

I second this. First half to establish their game plan, then second half to dominate.

I believe BK has this team in the right mental state to avoid a let down. I don't see them coming out flat. EG gained some confidence and he'll gain more this week and the next to be where we have expected him to be.

The players are hearing the same crap spewed forth by the haters that we have to listen to: "Their schedule isn't as daunting as it used to be", "they only have 1 quality win vs Oklahoma", "They dont play anybody for the rest of the year and the Trojans are falling", "THEY DON'T PASS THE EYEBALL TEST", what a bunch of bullshit!!!! I'm taking #3, they come out and put an ass whooping on Mark Mays Panthers so we can hear Lou rip him a new one:grin:!

I'm with you there. And whose fault is that? At the beginning of the season all the talking heads were guessing the Irish would be 5-3 or 4-4 at this point. Now that they have run the gauntlet, those teams "aren't very good". So, the blame is on ND for scheduling these not so good teams 2 or 3 years ago, regardless if they were a top 10 team or top 20 when the season started?

BLAH BLAH BLAH. GO IRISH!!!
