2lakes 4
Mathieu has now broken the LSU substance abuse policy and the law on at least three separate occasions. He chose drugs over his team. Gunner chose Notre Dame to be closer to home and get an education at a top 20 school. Compare and contrast those choices for a moment. Not consider that, according to Miles, Mathieu was a "quality, quality guy" with "behavior issues," while Gunner did not have "the chest" to play for LSU. Excuse me for painting with a broad brush, but those are some messed up SEC priorities.
Jersey Irish 207
It's always about your game and not your brain at SEC schools That reminds me of the sign an ND student was holding up when Game Day was on the air with the backdrop being the Hesburgh Library. The sign read; This is what a library look like, SEC!
NYNDIRISH723 14
I know it was his own fault, but I feel bad for the guy in some ways. Just a terrible waste of talent. I hope he can turn his life around.
chirodomer 47
Heck, the SEC has a pretty decent grad rate compared to B1g
Pregame 291
If Pacman Jones can turn his life around and stick in the NFL, I think this guy can too. Going to be an uphill battle the whole way. His dad has been in jail basically Mathieu's entire life, too bad he didn't learn from that example.
NDhoosier 1,336
Heck, the SEC has a pretty decent grad rate compared to B1g that is not true... B1G has pretty good academic standards, I think what you are getting at is that B1G has some bogus majors at O$U and and UM, but B1G is above the SEC (which isnt saying much to be honest). ndfanatic78 285
I dont want to hear from anyone ever again that Marijuana is not an addictive substance. This kid threw his whole promising career away over the stuff. If this does not scream addiction I dont know what does. I am not saying anyone that uses the stuff will get addicted, it goes to your personality and this kid definitely has an addictive personality and needs help. IrishFan33 0
I would love to hear people's opinion on how Weed/reefer/dope whatever you wanna call it is worse than Beer/Alcohol As far as weed i call it relief, there is no medicine that doctors have given me in the last 20 years that makes my shoulder/knee/back feel better.... No i do not smoke it everyday or even once in a while, just when i need it. And i after i smoke it,i don't beat my wife or kids

ndfanatic78 285
I wasn't debating whether it should be legal or not. I was saying it is an addictive substance, as is sex, sugar, and basically any substance that changes your brain chemistry. That's it. My main point is that the kid has an addictive personality and needs help. Hell most people can handle alcohol but there is 10% of the nation that has a problem with it, that doesn't mean it should be illegal, just that those people should not drink and when they do things tend to go wrong. I forgot why I never post here. Don't worry I wont again.

Katzenboyer 0
I would love to hear people's opinion on how Weed/reefer/dope whatever you wanna call it is worse than Beer/Alcohol One is illegal and the other isn't? Say what you want about the merits of the laws against marijuana (I really could care less either way as I don't smoke it), Mathieu's "habit" is against the law and punishable by criminal sanction. I would have no sympathy if it was alcohol that was Mathieu's problem, either, and if booze is what got him kicked off the LSU squad. I appreciated that he had a problem, and applauded him for going to rehab (which now looks like a ruse he fronted in a desperate attempt to get back onto LSU's squad), but you only get so many chances in life. He screwed up not once, not twice, but SEVERAL times and it's cost him a shot at playing at LSU (and possibly the NFL). Hope he gets his shit figured out, but I won't cry myself to sleep because he has a major problem and it came between him and the football field. I've heard far sadder stories.
