Ooops. I'm probably not allowed to post links yet but I thought this one would be OK.

“I may not be Sooner born and Sooner bred, but when I die I'll be Sooner dead!” she said during a break between classes.

Very cool piece.

#1 - I gotta believe that's trademarked: "Sooner dead" - just too good not to be.

#2 - Are your daughters talking to each other this week?

#3 - I'm a little envious of that head of hair you've got, Tim. Or maybe it's a trick of the hat, hmmmmm. Nice hat, tho', either way.

Very cool Tim! You have 2 lovely daughters! Great story!

btw, you have a daughter in the band?

Ha! Just messin' with ya. It's becoming a habit for me now. ;);)

Very proud papa!

Btw2, I merged these threads

LOL! Man oh man you weren't joking, that is a chapel to Notre Dame behind you! And it looks like a sprawling ND themed man cave. Solid work!

I know Speedster. I know!!!

Thanks for merging the threads.

Tomorrow I get to lead the marching band, with my friend John McClernon to the Myriad Gardens from the Sheraton Hotel. I told my daughter that I want them to play the fight song as we head through downtown Oklahoma City. She's saying, dad, dad, please don't. We shall see.!!!

That's really cool. Amazing memories to be a part of something like this.

GO IRISH!!!

I do not envy you not being able to fully get behind ND this weekend, understandable given your family ties.

Cool story..and I think other than previous history, this is really the only connection between two very different schools and traditions.

Robert Medley, the gentleman that did the story, said it is the number one non sports story today. He said to send it around and ESPN could pick it up.

Does anyone here know how to send it to espn?? Faith, where are you?

how does your daughter in the OU band feel about you being a BIG Notre Dame fan and not an OU fan?

She knows where my heart is, but at the same time I am supporting her by remaining neutral at least in appearance to the public. You guys know where my heart is.

I am getting lots of messages from former post office people I worked with. They knew me back when I was a huge OU fan. When I made the 'unthinkable' switch a lot of them were really offended. This story is mending some bridges. After I became the big ND fan I wore jersies or Notre Dame gear every single day at work. I was at one time, the authority on OU football, they came to me to settle arguments. I attended practices and knew the players. It was like the pope becoming baptist.

Congrats, Tim! Here is how you contact ESPN: https://r.espn.go.com/members/contact/index

Phone: 1-888-549-3776

You can also probably find contact info for local sports radio stations on their websites, if you are interested in that. I'll tweet some people at ESPN and see if I hear anything back from them (very long shot).

After all my hard work finding this, now that you know people at Channel 4, you better repay me by setting me up with Emily Sutton. Just kidding. A little. Maybe.

I just sent it over to Fortuna on ESPN. Don't need to spam him necessarily, but here is the link:

Tim, great stuff! Wow! What a neat story.

Didn't know you had an older daughter in the ND band too!

What a great family you have.

Enjoy the game and having your family back together for this big game.

The Daily Oklahoman has my family on page 4 of the newspaper today. The story is titled, "Edmond sisters will sound off in OU and Notre Dame bands in Norman."

The video has me, and my daughters. Check it out. http://newsok.com/edmond-sisters-will-sound-off-in-ou-notre-dame-bands-in-norman/article/3721731

Best part, is at the end:

Tim Flenniken won't make a prediction for the score.

“I'll definitely be as impartial as possible,” he said.

Then you come onto DD and predict 21-20 Irish :spy:
