I still have a gut feeling we're going to pull this off but for this one loss (if it happens), can we all agree to post good things about our guys? We all know they'll leave it all on the field.

I know what you are saying, but don't you think it's a little bit of bad karma starting this post? No matter what happens on Saturday I'm proud of this team of what they have accomplished so far, but I'm not ready to give up on them nor start thinking about what I will do if or when they lose.

I don't believe anything I say or do affects the outcome of what will happen in Norman Oklahoma on Saturday.

 

You may or may not have lurked here before during a loss but if you have, you would understand my wish that we remain positive no matter what happens.

We are going to roll those hillbillies boys.... I am 100% confident that we are going to win this game. We will be tested no doubt but the only thing Oklahoma has going for them is Landry Jones. Get pressure on Jones and we got this one. They haven't played a team who is even close to how physical as we are. I will even say K-State doesn't come close to how physical we play, we are going to be pissed and hungry and from what I have seen from this D so far I KNOW we are going to knock them in the mouth. Our D has not had one bad game, their offense has; enough said. So much is said about Jones and his experience but we have one just as good with just as much experience on our side of the ball opposite to Jones and he will be stalking his every movement on the field. I'll take a top D against a top O any day and finally we will be where we belong because after this game all the haters will be silenced and I CAN'T WAIT!

I have to disagree with you on this one point......the haters will ALWAYS hate. Some, perhaps, will jump on the bandwagon. But others, Mark May, will always pick against the Irish!

 

They have just as good a shot at winning this game as they do any other one. If they put an "A" offense and an "A-" defense on the the field, it's over. The D will always bring their "A+" game, it's time for the O to show what they can do. EG can bring this victory home.

Haters gonna hate, but I think Speedy is right that whether they hate or not, this year the team does not deserve the hate.

 

Last year I ran down my Brian Kelly scorecard and I was bent at his performance. I didn't like the fact that he hadn't beat Michigan. I didn't like the fact he hadn't beat MSU. I was glad he beat SC, but I wanted a convincing victory. I was irritated because he was still losing stupid games old ND style.

 

This year, though, I have nothing to say about it. He has won the rivalry games, he has fielded a great team every week who plays to the whistle. He has put up some blowouts so the ND faithful could breathe easy. He has beat the motherloving Skunkbears. I don't care what happens on Saturday, would love a win but I am ok either way. To me, the benchmark of this season is not the next four games,just the last one. I want to see him finish the season with an exclamation point by stomping a mudhole in SC.

 

Just my desires. I think we can win Saturday, though.

God I hope so, this is what bothers me the most about a loss... People are already attacking Ishaq personally, what is going to happen when we lose a game? KLM is too old for the college game... Russell will be converted back to RB after the game... Shembo's feet are too big, he is useless out there... :drama:

If ND loses on Saturday I seriously doubt anyone will say anything about Ishaq. Or KLM, or Prince Shembo.

 

If anything, ND detractors will say negative things about Everett Golson, Manti Te'o, and Brian Kelly. Only us fan types offer little criticisms about the non national brand players. Also, feel free to start a We <3 Ishaq thread if you think his feelings might be hurt. I'll send the guy some love.

I concur with the sentiment of this post. Win or lose, we're going to fight to the end and these guys deserve accolades and kudos, not vitriol and angst.

I started getting involved over here because I felt this board was and is pretty level headed for the most part. If people want to bash players (which they shouldn't do, because most people do not know what goes into being a D1 athlete) they should just leave. Now, talking about what needs to be done in order to get better is acceptable. Just no bashing. Don't mean to ruffle any feathers.

I am not the kind of person to say if you dont like it go away, but you have to take everything on the internet with a grain of salt. This is the only venue we have to congratulate players or to vent our frustrations about their performance. I think you would be hard pressed to find a thread that is groundless bashing, contrary to what some people think. Everyone has a valid opinion and people generally say what they see here.

 

:shrug: So you kind of have to suck it up a little bit, everyone here is pretty gentle about what they say and I have never seen a player come on here wiht hurt feelings. Like you said, I don't want to ruffle feathers, but there have been a lot of people lately talking about groundless bashing, hurt feelings, etc... This place has the best ND fans and they occasionally have feelings of disappointment or irritation, that's life for you. No one here wants to see this place turn into page after page of ranting hate pages, but most people here watch the games and come away with opinions.
