Guest Champion10
They said he has offers from almost everyone in the country and ND and SoCal are the leaders for him. I dont think Clauson would want to sit behind Mark Sanchez for a couple years seems like it could be interesting next year. On another note ill say this again SoCal, Mich St and the other USC have to report recruiting violations for sending him letters and such. Guest Snatchy_McPants
Wow, is that true about the recruiting violations? How does that still happen at major programs like that? They have to know the ins and outs of recruiting well enough to avoid that. Maybe they realize that all they'll get is a slap on the wrists................small price to pay? Guest Champion10
Pete Carrol came up to jimmy in person and said that he was the first junior he has ever offered, I believe Pete did this during a dead period in recruiting. Pete and USC said that they didnt know the rule... sure you didnt Pete. Steve Spurrior Jr sent Jimmy a hand written note which apparently you cant send to a junior??? anyway he excuse is that he hasnt done this before and he doesnt know Michigan State sent him a formal offer before sept 1st which is illegal. Snatchy I tried to find the show for you over the internet but couldnt find it.

Guest Snatchy_McPants
Thanks for the info, nice research. I'm going to go with my original assumption that they knew full well that it would be a violation, but were willing to risk that in order to make first contact. Hmm.......small violation here, small violation there............you know where that can lead.
Rockne3d
supposedly the Clausen family have always been big Irish fans. Before his brother chose Tennesse he really wanted to go to ND but they never offered him. I don't think the family is very happy with how Tennessee handled things with his brother at QB. Guest Champion10
That is correct the Clausons are Irish fans, looks like ND will be in there until the end.
Guest Snatchy_McPants
Good to know. Casey actually turned out to be a very good QB, I'm sure if we had a more pass-friendly offense at the time, we would have offered him. I think we will make a very serious run at Jimmy. Guest WeisGuy05
You guys are missing the main thing here....did you see is freaking highlights, holly crap!! He had 58 TD passes as a freaking Soph. His passes were precise and accurate, not to mention the velocity. Go Coach Weis!!

Guest SirJohn
Trying to follow you guys. You mean currently he is a Junior in HS????
Guest WeisGuy05
yes, he is a Junior.....they are calling him the LeBron James of HS football. That is quite a statement, but boy, he sure looks awesome on the highlights. During the report, OTL said Steve Spurrier looked at his Soph. highlight tape and half way through offered him a scholarship.
Guest SirJohn
Cool I was wondering let's see? Quinn till 2007 Say Zach 2006 fresh on Jimmy coming in 2008?? That's stocking the position if it goes that way
Guest Champion10
Sure is Sir John Obviosly I want him to go to ND because he is talented, the second reason I want him is south bend is because it means that he spurns Pete Carrol, Phil Fulmer and Steve Spurior.... man would that make my day
Guest Champion10
Well if we were to get Jimmy it would be a bif get to pull him out of SoCal and he might convinve his team mate Mark Tyler to come as well.
Guest Champion10
They just did a preview of his team on Fox sports west, every time I watch him play( on TV) he looks impressive. Also Mark Tyler seems to be a big time recruit as well.

Guest Champion10
Well he will have a televised game on the 21st of october I will make sure to watch that. Fri. Oct. 21st (7:00pm) Palmdale vs Oaks Christian The Oaks Christian Lions (Westlake Village) have been a rising small-school program in recent years and this will be one of their biggest tests yet. The Palmdale Falcons have tremendous athletes including multi-purpose WR/DB Tyreace House while Oaks Christian has QB Jimmy Clausen, who many feel is the top junior thrower in the nation.
