Just going to sit back and hope for a miracle...

While I wouldn't be surprised if we lose by a couple scores, I also wouldn't be surprised if we go down to Norman and smack the living sh!t out of that pansy Landry Jones. Break his spirit. Fu(k with his dreams. Make him remember forever that the Irish were there...

..and make a couple girls cry.

I hate to say this but I have come to terms that we will lose Saturday. I will be expecting it. If we win, I will be more than happy but if we win, I want to see improvement in the offense and special teams. I don't want us to just "get lucky". I want us to look elite and win. Can we win? Sure but I am expecting a loss.

Even if we lose to Okie and USC (God I hate them!), I will still be happy with this team and look forward to a great 2013!

A win will be a win, will be a win on the road against that team.

But I'll be drunk before half to take the edge off...

If this weekend gives us our first loss, which most likely will happen, I hope we do not get blown out. I'm with you two in having low expectations this weekend, but I'm not going too low. We better fight and keep it close. BTW, is the OK - Kansas St game on the net?

anything can happen any given saturday in cfb.... let's just not beat ourselves...win irish!!

People are actually going to watch this game?? ;)

(and yes, I'm perfectly happy with a 7-1 record after this game--playing with a rookie QB on the road and all--but I'll be ecstatic and schwasted with 8-0. not expecting it but hell, I didn't expect 7-0 either)

Yea, not with our D, no blowout but if the D can keep it close enough, we have a chance!

My dream game next Saturday would be the D creates a couple of turnovers early, Golson runs loose and focused and we get up early, then Chokelahoma will do what it does best,,,,

#1 I think our defense can keep us in the game.

#2 I think our running game is better than we are given credit for.

#3 I love that Oklahoma is favored!!!

3 thoughts:

1) Our D can keep us in any game we play. Period. It's just a matter of whether the offense can score enough points. Against Oklahoma, I think we're going to have to manage 25-28 to win.

2) I think we finally see Kelly send guys to block for Neal and he returns some punts this week.

3) I think we see Golson and our tailbacks try to pick up 3-4 yards every down and we pass it fewer than 25 times.

As for emotional takeaway from the game:

a)if we win I'm ecstatic

b) if we lose I'm disappointed

c) I'm only heartbroken if we're somehow blown out of the water or robbed by refs.

Stephon Tuitt will be facing at left tackle a smaller JUCO transfer who entered junior college as a quarterback and then played as a tight end. Louis Nix will be facing a center who went to Oklahoma as a tight end, shifted to guard, and is now playing center due to a series of injuries. The Irish have a chance to control the line of scrimmage on both offense and defense. Run the ball.

I can't believe some of you guys are crowning Oklahoma. We are 7-0. We have our 0, they don't.. If they beat us I to will Crown them but not a moment before. But don't you think Manti will fight for that 0? I owe him that same faith.

I have expectations.

I expect our team to beat the $ucking $hit out of them and leave nothing on the field...

I expect out to play team football...

I expect our team to wake up the echo's...

I expect our team to run down their $ucking throat...

I expect our team to have a return for a touch down...

I expect our D to limit them to zero td's...

I expect every single player to play the best football they ever played...

I expect oklahoma to go home asking what the hell hit them...

I expect this team issue in a new era...

I expect this team and Teo to honor Lennay...

I expect this team win...period...

Go Irish!!!!!!!!!

Ikard has been getting his praise but Nix is at another level.

Bless me dear Lord and Saint Anthony :jaw:...didn't read your post but whatever it said, great post and I agree!

Actually great barometer game to see how we stack against worthy BCS challengers and nervously excited to see what shakes out. We got the men on D to hold their own but the O needs to finds itself in hurry and no point holding anything back now...

If we get behind, I say throw the kitchen sink at them. Trick plays out the @ss and use every weapon in the arsenal. Neal, Wood, Russell, Atkinson, Riddick, McDaniel, Eifert, Daniel, Brown, Golson, Rees...

We have a dizzying amount of firepower, load it up like a magnum and take the restrictor off the offense and god help the Sooners defense...
