Empty backfield for Rees is a wasted down...

Kelly doesnt seem to know how to use either Golson or Rees. Honestly the play-calling for each seem to be meant for the other. And that's all season.

+1 I was thinking the same thing. Rees is just not a legit option at QB, I hope this is the last season we see him with Gunner coming into the fold last year. This game has a BC 2002 feel to it

Hendrix has never gotten a fair shot in my opinion. Kelly kept the love story going with Rees instead of getting Hendrix ready, and then immediately shifted his attention to Golson. Hendrix has all the tools. No excuse in my honest opinion.

Did you see how he played against Navy, he was awful. BUT can use him like Oklahoma uses Blake Bell in short yardage.

Posting in a silly thread complaining about a coach who took over a comedy program and in short order is restoring the glory - starting from the ground up.

Thanx...couldn't have said it better myself...so won't and will defer to you. Game wasn't perfect but show me a team which coasts through 12 games a year...not. Getting the plays in was tough but hat off to the TEAM for fighting thru all the distractions and showing up when needed. Proud to be an IRISH fan tonite!

7-0.

Teams needs to get ready for the biggest game of the season.

Hendrix has all the tools..

Ill take a crack at this..... I don't lay the turnover on Tommy, that ball should of been caught by Daniels. That turnover cost us 7. Two missed field goals by Brindza. Kelly took a players health (Golson) and put it at TOP priority and didn't play him. We won with our backup QB today. Good win, ugly or not. Game should of been 23 - 10 and I believe that's what Vegas guessed at (I think). I KNOW I KNOW.... if my Aunt had nuts she'd be my uncle. Just saying.

THANK YOU!!

I cannot believe that ppl are going to blame the coach in this! This game proves that tommy rees is exactly the same as last year and that coach kelly has utilized tommy in the proper fashion.

DAMN PROUD TO BE AN IRISH FAN! ESPECIALLY IN A REGION THAT IS MOSTLY CATHOLIC AND MORMON!!!!

So you have seen all the practices then. That is where players earn their chance.

First of all, Kelly actively recruited hendrix who likely would have flipped to UF if Kelly hadnt pushed for him hard. Secondly, Hendrix has the highest attempt to INT ratio of any QB on the roster. He had ample time last year to take the starter's role and he didn't. Assuming that Kelly is blissfully ignoring some silver bullet QB that he watches every day is a fool's errand. Sure, Hendrix has tons of potential and a great set of tools. He also has demonstrated an inability to throw anything but fastballs over the heart of the plate, shaky pocket presence and a limited command of the offense (the team literally ran one pass play for him last year every time he dropped back. One)

Great player and I hope that he gets a role in the future, but it would be crazy to say he offers a significant upgrade over our current rotation.

You mean those practices where Rees, Crist, and Golson have always gotten the majority of the reps while Hendrix has been an afterthought because he wasn't an early enrollee and was sort of the last Weis QB? Yeah those ones.

I think Kelly was recruiting Hendrix while coaching Cincy, he watched andrew play just down the road at Moeller...

Ding ding ding ding!!!! Yes.

Blake bell is FAR different than Hendrix. It's like comparing niklas to j golic.

They spit them evenly in the spring. Then EG and Rees pulled away.
