52/48% right now. Jaylon winning. Release the voting bot.

You know, I'm not even convinced in a bot anymore. The reason: unless we have a bot of our own (which I doubt), the numbers have swung our way at times at an even more ridiculous rate than those for Reese. For example, last night they jumped from a Reese advantage of 1,500+ to a Smith advantage of 2,000+ in an absurdly short amount of time. Today, they've basically held in the 1,300-1,500 range. An advantage for Reese would encourage local voting (i.e. local page hits), while a Smith advantage would encourage national hits (i.e. NDN, including us). The more this plays out, the more I get the sense that the numbers are being completely manipulated by the NS to get as many hits as possible. It just makes no sense at all to me that the numbers should move so violently in such violently different directions in such short times in an environment as sleepy as Fort Wayne. And even more so in Fort Wayne HS sports. I'm very curious to see if as the day progresses, suddenly this race gets closer and closer, so that the winner isn't obvious until the very end of the competition (i.e. keep the page hits coming until the very end). We'll have to see what happens, but if Reese really had a bot, I believe he'd be untouchable at this point, and I still don't believe the Smith side has developed a bot. This has all the makings of an inside fix job.

An "inside bot" conspiracy. Brilliant!

"with the help of Twitter and topics on Notre Dame message boards, Smith (23,382 votes for 51.32 percent) pulled out a win."

Found this quote interesting as I thought everyone said jaylon was playing DOG

“Hopefully, next year I will be playing behind (outside linebacker Prince Shembo) and learning from a guy who will be a senior,” Smith said. “After I take over his role in the future, I really want to be in the role that (senior linebacker Manti Te'o) is in now, just being the leader of the defense.

I think that changed when Randolph came on board. Randolph gives them the flexibility to put Jaylon at the Cat. It's simple: Randolph is best suited to play Dog, Jaylon could do both but is a freak chasing the QB, so have Jaylon play Cat.

Well it's good to know that he's not expecting a starting spot to be given to him when he gets here....I hate when kids say they are gonna go in start freshmen year for two reasons 1. It's disrespectful to the players on the team and 2. I worry they might transfer if they don't start. I know they are just showing confidence but sometimes they just totally dismiss any competition...Anyways does anyone see Ishaq getting lost in the shuffle when Jaylon comes? He seems pretty one dimensional at CAT.

Agreed with this. There was definitely some vote manipulating going on.

As an online marketer, who is familiar with traffic generation strategies, I wouldn't put this past the people running that site. I don't think it's as much for page views as it might be for generating links to their website (which helps search engine traffic).
